Hello all

Have a question and I thought this forum would be the best place for it.

I have a 2023 Silverado Custom Crew 4x4. It is a company issued vehicle and it replaced a F150 FX4, they are counting pennies and the Custom is what I was given. I need some extra clearance for off road work sites and the company is pushing back against aftermarket. I have looked at some GM suspension upgrade kits and found some that included new axles. Are they different axels from TB vs Non TB?

So if someone what the clearance of the TB what would they need to order? Could it be just a strut assembly from GM? Could someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for the help.

GM sells the full TB 2" lift kit that includes the struts/springs/axles and shocks and blocks for the rear.

You can purchase a any 2" lift kit for the Custom and it will be the same(suspension wise) ride height as a TB. The new CV's are not necessary unless you go above 2".

Eibach, Bilstein, etc have adjustable shocks that will be far superior to the factory Rancho's, so my suggestion would be to purchase the Eibach or Bilstein adjustable shocks.

Basically, the TB is a Z71 with a 2" lift. If you just want the clearance/ride height of the TB, add a 2" suspension lift and be done with it. Honestly though, larger tires will give you the same or more clearance than the 2" lift will.

But the GM kit is factory warrantied and this is a company truck. It may cost a bit more but keeping the warranty in tact may be worth it to the company.
