OEM Battery lifespan?

I am wondering what the lifespan of the original battery is? My truck is roughly 3.5 years old and going into winter so it makes me think about it.

How long did your stock battery last? Or when did you replace it?

The battery in my 2020 Trail Boss lasted right under four years from the build date. The battery in my 2022 RST work truck died yesterday. I’ve had it since May 2022, and it was new. So, based on personal experience, 3.5 years is getting close to the end.

I might just replace mine. I can get an interstate agm battery at costco for around $160.

If you’ve never changed one in these trucks, it might be a good idea to YouTube it. Not hard, just a hassle with everything on top of it.

That’s a fantastic price, just make sure you check the build date on the battery.

I am doing it now for cheap insurance because I don't want to deal with it when it is below zero and I hate working on vehicles when it is cold out.

3.5 is about the life's end...that said, if like the 16-17 models....be very cautious to not short across the buss terminals when changing...

The main fuse may blow and leave you totally dead.

Mine lasted just over 3.5 - 4 years on mine. Replaced it at around 97,000 kms.

I’ve wondered the same thing, I purchased my 2020 TB new in July of that year and battery is still doing fine but may just replace before it dies ..62K miles

I have a 2019 TB with 53K and replaced my battery last July. Did not seem to have any problems but with the minus temps we get during the winter decided to change it out to prevent issues.

My original battery lasted 3 years, I do live in the south west. I recently replaced it with an optima, will keep track and make an update later down the line and see how it goes.

Just replaced mine with a Costco/Interstate AGM. Clerk rang it up as a standard battery ($125) on accident I guess. I didn’t notice til I checked the receipt at home. Maybe he gave me a senior discount .
