Been taking my truck in to dealership past 2 years for oil filter changes. I wanna do it myself now.
What’s the best oil type and filter that you all use? 2020 trailboss 1500 LT 4wd

Any Dexos approved weight oil and a Delco filter will be sufficient. Or go crazy with the Amsoil if you feel the need. Don’t go past 5K oil change intervals and you’ll be fine. How many miles? Any lifter issues? Build date?

No lifter issues, build date I believe is 2019. I have 34,800 miles on it. The dealership suggest I was suppose to change at 33k, but forgot and went over.

I was running Royal Purple's full synthetic 0W-20 in my 6.2L, but I recently switched to Mobil 1 Extended Performance. Seems to be as good of an oil and a better value all around. I also run the Mobil 1 Extended performance oil filter. I believe it is part number M-212A for both the 5.3 and 6.2. It is cheaper in the long run to pick up two five-quart jugs at Walmart. That will leave you two quarts left over. Then the next time an oil change is due, you can just grab one five-quart jug and a one-quart container. I run mine for 5000 miles before changing.

I use Amsoil 0W-20 with a WIX XP filter on my 6.2 change at 7500 miles and rotate tires at the same time. Very happy with Amsoil so far. I use Amsoil and get analysis on my 5.9 Cummins every oil change at 10,000 miles always comes back that I can go longer but I change it out as that is when it's time to store it for the winter.

Use a good name brand syn.
I would run castrol or mobil 1 extended but change at normal intervals

I found replacing the Oil Filter is quite a bit more messy than in previous Silverado models. This seems due to the location and longer thread length.
At least, with the access to the Filter when using only standard driveway ramps, and not a Vehicle Lift.

Could be worse, could be one of those ones that angle in to the side of the block, and getting to it requires some lost flesh on your arms and hand lol.
