Hello all,
My 2022 TB is 3 mos. old. As such, I'm set to lose Serius XM and Onstar, unless I subscribe and pay.
I can live w/out Serius XM.
But what features from Onstar 'interact' with the vehicle, if any? What can't I do without having Onstar?
Bottom line, is it worth it?
Thanks

Personally I think Sirius/XM is crap, sound quality is unacceptable if you're a true music lover.
I have no use for Onstar either, my Trail Boss is the 4th vehicle in a row that has had Onstar and I've never once regretted not paying for the service.
I guess I'm not really answering your question. I've never used Onstar so I don't even know what I'm missing.

I like sat radio, needs a few less dj ads. I do not subscribe to onstar but I do still get the monthly diagnostic report emailed to me. With all the other ways to summon help I see no real reason for it. It's another personal preference item. Weigh your options and ask what services you feel are that beneficial as a paid service. Good luck

You get the remote start and lock/unlock from your phone app plus some other features that work anywhere you and your vehicle have signal. I think it includes tire pressure and gas level from the app. I have no use for the remote assistance or directions of Onstar or the crash response. You do have some theft protection with them though as they can disable the vehicle remotely so if it's stolen it can be shut down and disabled and then police can track and retrieve it. There's some neat stuff, but not enough for me to pay what they're asking for it. I get spammed at least once or twice a week by Onstar with "special offers" to get me to sign up.
I love Sirius/XM and have had it in at least one vehicle since about 2005. Local radio stations suck and don't play the kind of music I like. I can put it on my favorite station and drive where ever and don't have to hunt for a different station.

I'm prob. going to cancel both. never use them. I run Pandora music through my phone - the sound quality is 10x better for $10 a month. Should have cancelled them a long time ago. Time to trim the fat.

I'm not sure why this option isn't more popular, but since I'm an old fashioned cd guy and have tons of cds in my collection and I wanted to keep making use of them. I burned ALL my cds onto a 32 gig usb drive and plugged it into my truck's only usb port. This way I have my entire collection at my fingertips no subscription required and almost cd quality sound.

Ive done that with songs I already had downloaded to my laptop. It's a good idea.

My desktop died on me a few years ago so I don't have a computer with a CD-Rom to burn stuff

Had Sirius/XM and canceled it. Everything I need for music comes through my phone witch is always hooked up anyway.

Keep OnStar for one reason only. I spend a lot of time off road in desert backcountry. Even though OnStar works off of a combination of GPS satelites and cell service like my phone the cell conection is better than my Verizon. I have tested it when out of Verizon service range and sometimes it still works. I might be kidding myself but I like the idea of having a secondary way to send up smoke signals if I ever have a real emergency.

I canceled everything except XM. I keep XM for the hard Rock stations 😉.

The only thing is it won't read my Text messages now 😒😡😡😡😡. The cheapest car/truck on the market will do this without Data.

I just keep onstar for the discount we get on our insurance. That and if my truck is stolen or I decide I want to crash it, I get help.
