Optima Battery After 1 year

In my 2021 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss Im On my third battery. I bought an optima battery and made my 1 year review on it. What batteries are you guys putting on your trucks?

Not an Optima. They went to crap YEARS ago. I thought they were great when I had my first red top. Had an alternator die and made it ~40 miles home on just the battery and it took a charge back and kept going for several more years. Had 2 yellow tops and they died and wouldn't take or keep a charge even when I kept them on battery tenders when stored.

I swapped out my original battery at 4 yrs before it left me stranded. Installed a Costco / Interstate AGM for about $175.

Wonder if lithium batteries are up to the job yet....on my motorcycle...they have replaced the agms for 15 yrs now....with the last lithium ghosting out at 10yrs!

My concern with lithium is the recharging as they require a balance plug on my RC cars depending on the number of cells. Not sure how that's handled replacing a standard battery in the real automotive world.

I had great luck with yellow tops when living in Moab and driving Hummers and Jeeps. Needed the deep cycle for the winch and other accessories. However, that was many moons ago.
