Parking Sensors

Is it normal the sensors don’t make an audible alert until you get REALLY close? The graphic shows up in the gauge cluster but I don’t get audio beeps until it’s in the red. My Tahoe would beep as soon as the first bar lit up. 2021 LT Trail Boss.

Mine does the same thing and frequently will indicate “Park assist disabled “ when I didn’t push the button to disable them
