that is due to them knowing you wont call for the original warranty time frame. this is the discussion i had with many dealers...as most people wont BUY OUTRIGHT, they roll it into the financing and it cost more in the end.the cost of the warranty goes up in correlation to the age and mileage of the truck. An 8/100 platinum warranty is going to cost less on a brand new truck than on a 35 month old 35k mile truck.
i personally dont think 2400ish is too bad for 7/72 at my 3/36 mark.... to continue coverage.
