'Platinum' Chevy extended warranty cost

the cost of the warranty goes up in correlation to the age and mileage of the truck. An 8/100 platinum warranty is going to cost less on a brand new truck than on a 35 month old 35k mile truck.
that is due to them knowing you wont call for the original warranty time frame. this is the discussion i had with many dealers...as most people wont BUY OUTRIGHT, they roll it into the financing and it cost more in the end.

i personally dont think 2400ish is too bad for 7/72 at my 3/36 mark.... to continue coverage.

the warranty pricing is largely based on actuarial data and target profit margin...... just like insurance premiums. given all the issues with the powertrain issues and the replacement/repair cost associated with all the new technology in the refreshed Silverados, I would expect to see warranty costs significantly rising as GM starts to crunch the data coming in. this was part of the reason why I had no problem buying an 8/100 the week after I bought the truck.

i agree, but that 8/100 wasnt used or touched till after the 3/36 ? so was it a 5/64 in reality ?
or was your WRITTEN to go 8/100 on top of....

I took the Platinum for my Silverado last year and managed to negotiate it around $2400.It's worth comparing between several dealerships because the prices vary a lot
