I see a 2022 truck in the color I want, but it doesn't have the Dark Essentials Package (which I like).
Is it possible to add these things?
- BLACKED out CHEVROLET on tailgate.
- Replace the silvery/chromey "Silverado" and "LT" on the tailgate with BLACK ones.
- And I'm not sure what else is included in the Dark Essentials Package, but I'd probably want that changed to BLACK as well.

Mine was added by the Dealer even though it was ordered that way. I don't see why you can't add it to any truck you want at a cost.

You Sure can, GM Part # 84806929 , GM Part # 84370615

Thats all that is in dark essentials. If its a 6.2L, i believe thats also blacked out. Dont confuse it with the black out package thats available with the midnight edition. That gives you all of this plus the Z71 blacked out.

Well, maybe I want the black out package then. :)
Whichever... I just wanted to know that I could get it added if I decide to go for that truck.

If im not mistaken, i believe the blackout package is only available on the mid night edition. :giggle: Either way, you can get the black Z71 badges. You need to just do it already and get that truck if its color and equipped the way you want.

My truck had blackout but was not a Midnight Edition. It's basically just the tailgate "Silverado' and "LT/Custom" All these badges can be bought aftermarket, plus the Z71 and the grill badges.

Don't sweat it If you don't get the blackout package, you can change all the badges you want with aftermarket parts at likely a fraction of the price.

I think the only major thing the Midnight Edition comes with is blacked out exhaust tips.

What your describing is the Dark Essentials package that you have. Thats what he is looking for. The black chevrolet in the tailgate, black silverado on the tail gate and the black LT.

  • Raised hood with styled Black insert
  • Black appearance with Black badging, recovery hooks†, bed decal, bumpers, dual rectangular exhaust tips and grille
  • Available Goodyear Wrangler Territory® mud terrain tires with 20-inch high-gloss Black-painted aluminum wheels
  • High-intensity discharge LED headlamps with Black bezels on LT Trail Boss

I think it is or was called the Midnight Edition. It also gave black powder coated exhaust tips and also came with a factory spray-in bedliner. But if you are strictly looking for the blacked out badges, see a link to Chevrolet's website for some official badges below:

Black Z71 Badges:

Black 6.2L (if applicable), Silverado, and LT badges:

I was at my dealer's parts shop yesterday and they said I couldn't order the blacked out Z71 from them, but I could likely find it on Amazon, but they said they didn't have it for me to order.

Looks like they were wrong based on link above and other post. Thanks guys. $85 gives you all 3. How hard to change the litte one in the grill?
