I have viewed some videos on YouTube about PPV brake conversions on Tahoe type vehicles. I have also done some preliminary researched as to parts availability. Most everything is available on RockAuto. As of 2023 GM has offered a Silverado PPV model equipped w/ Brembo type brakes to 1st responders and law enforcement. The total cost for the parts from RockAuto is under $1200.00. This compares favorable to the availabile kit offered by GM for around $2500.00.

I have installed a BDS 4" lift with Fox 2.5/2.0 struts/shocks and some 35's on my stock 20" wheels. That made some big improvements compared to the leveling kit that it had when I purchased it. I am wanting to upgrade the braking to a higher level as well. The research that I have done indicates that for a few dollars more I can get a vastly superior braking system over the readily available PowerStop stuff. My question is has anyone here done this conversation to their Trail Boss?

I put the GM performance package on for the same reasons you discussed. I would say it was a 15-20% improvement over stock after bigger tires.

There are some YouTube videos of the kit with some before and after testing which showed the same 15-20% improvement .

I had GM install it because it was less than $200. The service manager said the Techs hate doing it because GM shorts the allotted time.

The GM kit requires 20” rims to clear the calipers and you do lose the brake pad wear monitor. A 17” spare won’t clear so if you have a front flat you have to put a rear on the front and spare on the rear. I just purchased a matching spare.

on your lift, 4" up front but what about the back end ? did you do 2" rear to be level ? I'm about to do a 4" but 2" in the rear to be about level. I have 1.5" leveling (left a bit of nose down) and will remove obviously. I have 35x 20s also

Yes, the BDS 4” lift comes with the corresponding block to level the rear as well. All 4 corners measure 45” @ center of wheel , ground to center of fender lip.
