I look at my TB and see little discernible rake, so I got out a tape measure. Ground to wheel well in the rear is 40 7/16" and 40 1/16" in the front. That is a 3/8" rake and ~pretty level. I have seen other TBs with a more pronounced rake. If I am to level it with spacers I would want no more than 1" lift, else it would have a reverse-rake which I think would look silly and even worse when towing. Are there different springs in a duramax? or is the duramax motor so much lighter than a 6.2 that it stays more unsprung?

I bought this new. The only weight of any significance in the bed is a hi-lift jack (and that is mounted to the bed's headwall).

That's weird. Maybe the post-refresh trucks don't have as much rake but I have a 1" level in the front of mine and my rear wheel wells measure about a half-inch higher than the fronts.

Or maybe the diesel is different?

I took the 2 inch blocks out of the rear of my 6.2 and it sits near level, just slightly lower in front. Do you have the factory blocks under your rear leaf springs?

That is kind of what I have seen - other TBs with about a 1.5-2.0" rake. I can't imagine that the LZ0 weighs that much less than the 5.3 or the 6.2; more like it would weigh more as other diesel engines do.

Yes it looks like there are still ~2" blocks under the leaf springs still.

Measure your rockers...wheel arches are not the best reference.

A flat leveled trailboss looks like a sagging dog due to the hood scoop (my opinion)....your rake sounds perfect for appearance and use

The "Hyena" look (reverse rake) is nothing I would want. I am pretty confident I could go to 285/65/20 (~34" x 11.5") as-is, maybe with some plastic trimming at worst. Take that 0.5" of ground clearance increase and be done. ;)

I'm still curious as to why some stock TBs have a more pronounced rake however.

Supplier control....the amount of parts needed vs. the manufacturer ability leads to the possibility of multiple suppliers....no 2 items are ever the same, unless you spend large $$$

It has always been this way, some lean to one side, one corner, ect....

My 24 GMC 1500 has a nasty driver front lean...and it is 2wd.

I mentioned I removed the 2” blocks from the rear and it sits about level. I also have air ride suspension in the rear so I can basically set the rake to whatever I want. You may want to go that route if you raise the front.

A half-inch rear rake is pretty much the sweet spot. Unless you constantly tow heavy, this 1/2 inch is perfect.

Here is mine currently, STOCK REAR BLOCK, NO OVERLOAD, and DEAVER MINI PAK (NO SPACERS)
Front is 3.5" Fox with a 1/4" lower spacer
37" tire (36 by tape measure)
it needs a 1.5" rear block to sit right
