Hello All,

I figured I would save someone else time and report out some info on my tire upgrade.

I am running the Ready Lift 1.75" leveling kit with new UCA on a 2021 Custom 5.3 6 speed with the fatory 18" +26 offset wheels. I also installed the Rough Country mudflap delete kit. This was to avoid possible rubbing and for obstacle clearance on the back side of the front tire.

I went with the Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT because it hit a lot of needs for mixed driving and only weighs 62 lbs per tire at 295/70/18. The tires feel amazing so far and had no problem clearing the wheel well at full lock or the UCA.

I mounted a cheap AT at 285/75r17 on the spare steel rim and it fit perfectly but close in spare tire well. This is close enough in size to get back out carefully if I get a flat off road somewhere.

I ran the inline speedometer recalculator from Rough Country. Itworks but I wasn't too impressed with them. The software was impossible to find on their website and the customer service guy failed to follow through on sending a link to it. I had to type in the header on the software window picture in the instructio s and index it througj Google. Moreover, it didn't work for Mac, only Windows, so I had to orrow a computer to set it. The guy on the phone was sort of a jerk about the whole thing, and didn't really seem to care much. It works though and is pretty straigtforward once you get it going.

The truck drives great and I confirmed the speed check with a gps app and the road check signs. I was worried about a loss of power, but I can't notice anything, even before the speedo recal. When I leveled the truck I lost about 1 to 1.5 mpg with the duratracs still on. I gained about half of the back when I switched to the Coopers. The lack of rolling resistance is noticeable.

The tires look better in person than in pictures. I pulled up to jiu jitsu yesterday and someone told me "damn that's a truck." Always nice to hear.

All in all, I took my time and fished around for information here and there online, but it was scattered and contradictory. I can tell you with certainty, the truck feels great with this set up. No lack of power. The Coopers glide over the road with so much less resistance than the duratracs. The compond feels soft but the tires have a 60k warranty. Can't wait to see how they do in mud, rain, snow, and ice. Just got them yesterday. I am attaching some quick low effort pics to help anyone looking for answers. Cheers.

Great write up, it’s a timesaver for someone.

I’m curious as to how many folks have been able to run a 295 with the Readylift level and no spacer.
I think it just depends on the tire. KO3s probably fine. Baja Boss maybe not. Would be cool if some people comment on here with 295s that worked and didn't work without spacer. Maybe the post could become a bit of an info repository on that topic.
