I bit, I purchased a first generation product. As most of us that have been around a while knows this ain't always a smart thing to do.
I installed it Friday morning, but only yesterday (Saturday) had a chance to get it on the road for more than a short ride I took Friday evening.
Well I'm happy and relieved to report this new module seems to perform as advertised. I drove in downtown stop and go traffic as well as
interstate speeds without issue.
With the exception of the exhaust flapper being opened the otherwise stock exhaust maintains a consistent sound. Those of you with a
louder modified exhaust will be able to hear any change much better.
To try to get the best test results I road some with the rear window open and am still surprised at difference just opening the flapper
does for the exhaust tone and level.
As delivered with DFM in use the truck never irritated me at cruising speeds. When asked it jumped. I'm glad to say it still
does. I'm old school, if it has 8 cylinders with a 325 cubic inch displacement it should be utilized at all times. I hope this helps with lifter life too.
Now the Auto Start/Stop Creature. For me, this module is pretty much worth its price "$229 I think" to so simply disable and not ever think
about this ridiculous "creature" again.
Yesterday while waiting to make a left turn at one of those five minute lights with rear glass opened I could hear my nice little idle
note while seeing my tach remain steady.
After such limited usage knowing I can't see the future long term performance/reliability, it's wait and see.
As for me at this time the Range Tech Refresh Module seems to be just what I wanted. No Regrets.
