RC lights

Just got back from hunting in Maine. First big trip for my Trail Boss. Roads are dark up there; moose often cross the road in front of you. I need more light.

Do the RC grill lights add a bunch of light or are they more for "show"? Has anyone tied them into their high-beams?

I would classify them as a short distance flood. For single row 10” lights they do work well but don’t carry distance. Based on your described needs I think you’d be happier with a multi row bigger bar such as those mounted behind the grill.

Check out this thread. Just have to find the brackets and buy your own light bar. A few places mentioned in there, putco, American trucks, maybe rough country.

Thanks, I just read the thread. What kind of LED lightbar should I look for to get the best long distance/high beam type light pattern for the needs I described?

Has anyone tied these into their high beam or does everyone use a separate switch?

I used a separate switch but the high beam idea sounds good

Few I’ve seen from this forum are separate switch but if you go high beam route do a write up. Brand is just preference and price. Multiple options out there for flood/spot combos, think you’re looking at 30” range based on what others have done.

They give a good amount of coverage and have lasted with no fade or cloudy glass
