The Bilstein's are a huge improvement over the rancho. Plus I was already at 80k on mileage so it seemed wise to replace while I was lifting the truck. I off-road a lot for work and overland with my setup. Before lifting I changed the rears to the 5160 to test the difference and it was night and day difference. To you guys changing out the Rancho shocks for the Bilstein what is primary reason, is it necessaru when putting in the 2" lift to change the suspension? Which Rancho Shocks come on the Trail Boss I see the Bilstein 5100 series seems to be the favorite to change to. The TB is built/sold as an off-road truck highlighting the Rancho shocks, but a number of people seem to be chaning them out to go with Bilstein.

Thanks for explanation. Will keep the Bilsteins in mind if I ever get to 80K. My Trail Boss LT is finally on its way, ETA 10/08/22.The Bilstein's are a huge improvement over the rancho. Did u change your UCAs too?Yes you can add them. Much better option IMO. I added the 5160 in the rear and the 5100 adjustable struts in front. I put the fronts at the max setting and have had no issues.
Yes, I added the Ready lift kit. Also added the super springs overload in the rear with the super spring sumo springs. I have a decked system with tools and gear as well as the bed rack and RTT. I needed to adjust for the rear sag.Did u change your UCAs too?
Please post pictures as This is exactly what I was thinking of doing on mine as well.I just ordered mine. Went with the 6112 coil overs and 5160 in rear. Also zone off-road control arms. Returned the ready lift.
How did the zone and bilsteins end up working out? How are the angles?I’m worried about the 4wd auto with the ready lift kit.
So you put the 5100's on plus the readylift or just the 5100's set to the max setting? Are you at 4"?Yes you can add them. Much better option IMO. I added the 5160 in the rear and the 5100 adjustable struts in front. I put the fronts at the max setting and have had no issues.
