Hey, guys!
I just grabbed one of these from Boost Auto. I believe it's a pretty new offering from them and might help solve at least some of the dim lighting problem in our trucks with a true plug and play upgrade. Even though it's for the rear seating area, from the install video, it seems it'll be pretty bright and should flood some useful light into the front as well. Just thought I'd share! I just ordered, so I can't speak to it's effectiveness just yet, but am hopeful it'll be money well spent.

Good find, post up a review.

pay attention when you install, see if it is possible to mount more center of cab roof ????

Seriously? $100 for that stupid thing? It's only $80 overpriced!

Ok, got this installed and am finally getting around to a review here. Initial observations: it is SUBSTANTIALLY brighter than OEM. It floods the rear seating area with more than enough useful light, from headliner to floor. Though it does throw some useful light into the front, it certainly isn't a cure for the ridiculously lacking light in the front (not that I expected it to cure that as it is, after all, a rear light, but I was hoping for a bit more than it provides). The plug and play nature was the most appealing part for me as I am not super confident in my electrical work skills. For that it is really nice, though I will say, pulling the OEM part off wasn't as easy as the install video made it seem. Took quite a bit of force to pull the clips free. That, however, was the extent of any difficulty in the install process. Aesthetically, it's not awful looking, but it is a little more crude compared to the OEM part, but I don't plan to spend too much time staring up a the rear dome light. The $100 price point seems a bit steep for what it is for sure. But, it helps solve at least part of the poor lighting problem very simply, which for me at least, adds to it's value. If somehow a plug and play option could be made for the front (unlikely, I know), I'd gladly pay at least $100 for it. Pics below are OEM on top with upgrade on bottom.

I like your thinking on this. The lead would allow you to conceivably mount it two or so inched forward of it's original position, but for a clean look, there would need to be some cutting of the headliner (and some creativity on how to mount it securely) and the original void in the headliner would somehow need to be addressed. Just sucks that the front lights aren't bulbs that could just be swapped out for a brighter option.

The problem with the front console is the bulbs are soldered in. Because of the options on trucks, there's not an all in one solution to replace just the dome light part. There's the base trucks, the rear slider option, sunroof option and Homelink options as well as the majority of trucks having the Onstar in the console.

I got/installed the one @Bowtiefreak mentioned above (except in black trim). Quick stick-on non-invasive install. Very bright. Easily removed. Cheap.
