What’s the best air bag kit to fit my truck. The truck already has a 2 » lift

I checked the reviews and some mentioned the ride is bouncy at 0 psi ?

you will hear many claims...i personally have never been a fan or like the use of bags...for that reason. now, some newer bags have internal jounce (bump stops) and can be run at 0 psi....most were always 5-10 psi at a minimum to keep from bottoming out the bag.

unless your towing regularly, look at Timbren or Sumo Spring for the replacement style bump assist
i have the Blue Sumo Springs and install when i do tow.

Don't buy the no name assist springs that are supposed to function like the SumoSprings or Timbren. I thought they all looked the same and were overpriced and I'm cheap so I went with the cheap option. It was just solid rubber and caused it to bottom out on EVERY little bump and launch the rear end up in the air. Maybe if it had a spacer so it was in constant contact with the bump stop pad it would have been better, but I think the material was just too hard and that's why they were like $40 instead of well over $100 for the other brands.

i was first introduced to the cellular bump back around 2009, Don Thuren offered "Disco Bumps" for the heavy desert use Ram owners...they were a game changer compared to a rubber bump/

I’m towing a 9000 lbs fifth wheel with roughly 1600 payload would those hard rubber do the job?

Just to throw a monkey wrench into the discussions… I switched to Torklift upper and lower stable loads. I’m carrying 3500 ish in the bed, and it’s perfect. Lower stable loads have a pin that allows me to swing them out of the leafs when not in use. 3500TB. Towing feels much better as well.

Local off road shop talked me out of bags as the first upgrade. I may still add bags as a nudge and assist.

I have had both timbren and air bags I like the bags better. The timbren made my 96 1500 ride like my 80s one ton.

Do you have info on Torklift?

I used my truck specific upper stable loads and lower stainless steel stable loads. Note: buy direct from torklift. I’m not gonna bad mouth distributors, but a well know online appears to have substituted hardware. We were breaking bolts with a simple 3/8 ratchet and no torque. Torklift has a great reputation. Ebay, Amaz… etc.. no.

Input truck info

Silverados have pre drilled leafs. I had to remove the thin rubber load pads on mine. I used heavy duty jack and stands to find the sweet spot where I could relieve load to install. Pickle fork to remove oem pads. Pry bar to get just a little more relief in leafs. Lots of videos out there.

I’m not saying this is your solution, but after having bags, Timbrens, sumos and different sway bars… this is the best I’ve felt. It became my solution. Trailer to truck hitch weight ratio has had me in the load equalizer hitch game before as well. The 3500 opened up many more payload and tow options. Sometimes a combo of upgrades gets the truck in the sweet spot.

Good luck.
