REAR VIEW MIRROR WITH VIDEO DISPLAY

I've been recently looking into installing an auto dimming rear view mirror and on the 2019 models it does have the plug behind the small overhead console to do so. And now I'm wondering if I buy a mirror with the rear video display will it also work as well? Looking at used ones on ebay it appears that the plug is the same. Not sure if it works off of the back up camera or not, but I assume that it would. But I also thought I had read somewhere that the cameras for the video displays are a higher resolution I drove a Sierra with the rear display and I loved it!

No. That plug will only give you 12v power - so the auto-dimming mirror is plug-and-play...but for the camera mirror you need the camera too. It's actually quite a process to install, but it's doable if you don't mind some work.

Yes it is, a company has the kit for it and it's also very expensive, like $1677! You would be crazy to pay that much, definitely not worth it. Maybe $200-$300 perhaps, but not $1677!
