Has anyone done this? When i priced my TB back when it first came out... the trim packet i want would remove the front center seat... and when you build and the website sends you to the nearest dealership with a truck similar to your build... majority of them had no center front seat...

I want to know if anyone else has done this without having the dealership do it.

If you did have it done by the dealership, which dealership, how much did it cost, and how long did it take?

Also, I want to add an inductive charger. I bought one of those cup insert charging holders. (i'll add pics later) it is ok but would love a place to set the phone down on and have it charge without having to deal with charge wires.

Has anyone added an inductive charger (wireless charging)?

Thanks

Normally everybody wants the console and not the center seat. You can remove the console and buy the center seat and bolt it in. I don't believe any of the center seats have power inside the opening top, just ports underneath for the back seat on the higher trim models. You'll also need the under dash closeout piece for a center seat truck since the console comes up to the bottom of the dash. You can probably easily find someone that is willing to swap you parts plus cash for your console.

So am I understanding you to say you have a center console with no middle seat? And you want the center seat without out center console?

So it is very doable. I have done a swap for a buddy of mine from the center console to a bench seat.

I don't care much for the center console and prefer the middle front seat. The fleet vehicles i have been in, that can hold a crew of 6 has a folding middle front seat. When folded the back of the seat has a console inserted inside the back rest. When unfolded it becomes a seat to hold a crew of 6... hence the term CREW cab...

Plus, call me old school... I like the idea of my girl sitting next to me. The console just gets in the way...

I am looking for someone who wants to swap. Mine has the rear air ducts and charge ports which are a must. I saw one model with an opening for such panel. Didn't look big enough tho but pics can be deceiving. 🤞🤞

I think the toughest thing will be switching the shifter from the console to the column. I like this idea, though I would probably ever go through the trouble. Would like to have the option to add another seating position for another person (or my dog). You are stuck with the console as soon as you add any packages or tech, even though they are not related. Makes no sense that you can't have the option for both the 360 camera and be able to sit 6 people..

Looks like OP has a 21 Trailboss so it’ll be column either way
