I was interested in something like this too. Wanted the lights under the truck but durable enough to withstand off-road usage. Did you decide to go with the Rock Lights?

I will be installing them in the spring as under hood lights.

I picked up some Alpena RGB Tough Pods the other day to use as rock lights, 1 per wheel well. Hopefully I will get around to installing them soon. Will keep you updated.

I plan on going with the ones from Baja Designs. I'm going to use switch #4 of the GM upfitter switches for power.
