Hello. :cool:So just bought my first Trail Boss a few weeks ago. Love everything about it except the seats that came with it. The seats hurt my back when driving. I don't have this problem at all with the seats in my Honda. I think the Honda seats are "bucket seats" which differ from the Chevy ones. Does anyone know if there is a seat cover that will has support built into it (perhaps a seat cover that is "bucket seat" molded)?

Sorry if it's a silly question, just trying to see if there's an alternative to changing out the seats completely. I bought a back support cushion that helps alot and also lifts me up like 6 inches.

Thanks! :)

What trim do you have? Do you have a power driver seat with adjustable lumbar?

You could find a power seat with the lumbar. I bought one for my Custom but haven't put my leather covers on yet to put it in the truck. It was a cloth seat out of an LT model so it matched the cloth I have, but I had purchased a leather replacement seat cover set prior to purchasing the seat and haven't installed it in the truck yet.

Ohh, That’s a good idea. How much did that cost if you don’t mind me asking 😎. Thanks!

I found a place on ebay that was in Michigan and I inquired about picking it up instead of shipping and they gave me a better deal than their buy it now price on ebay and they even trucked it to a location of theirs that was about an hour and a half closer than the location it was originally at for free. I think it was about $200 I ended up paying.

In regards to the custom, I put blocks under the driver seat to raise it a bit so I can see over the hood better, I’m 6’. I
Forgot the name but if you Google blocks for Chevy custom seat it should come up. Huge difference

Ohh good idea. I’ve been using a seat cushion for support and the extra 2-3 inches is awesome. I don’t think I could go back to sitting lower haha. Thanks for the ideas :)

The struggle is real. Bar none, the worst seats of any vehicle that I have ever sat in. So bad that after a day of driving my neck and back is hurting so bad that it takes a couple of days to get over it. I have tried every possible way to find a comfortable position. It is so painful that I am about to trade my new truck off for a new 4Runner again like I had previously.

My truck is the LT model with the lumbar support but I have to say that even with the lumbar feature the seats they put in these trucks aren't very comfortable. Coming from previously owning Rams I can say that Chevy needs to step up their game. One thing that really helps me is the heated seat feature if you can add it. I did a 400 mile trip this weekend and I have a bad back so normally I would be in some major pain after a long drive but the heat really helped keep my back and butt muscles relaxed.

I don't know what's up with all you old farts and these seats! I'm almost 49 and have back issues and have taken several 5+ hour trips with no issues or pains during or after the drives and I just have the base cloth non power non lumbar seats currently in the Custom trim level truck.

Just turned 50 and I guess the weight on my front side (belly) isn't helping with my backside 😁

I had the same problem with my Trail Boss seats, and I found that Wet Okole truck seat covers helped quite a bit. They’re not designed specifically for back support, but the extra padding and the snug fit can make a difference. I paired mine with a memory foam lumbar support cushion, and together they’ve made my drives a lot more comfortable. The nice thing about Wet Okole covers is that they’re durable and easy to clean.
