So last week I parked my 2019 custom trailboss on auto overnight. The next morning tried to drive it and I almost could not steer it. A little grind then finally I was able to get out of driveway. But then "Service 4wd" came on. Everything is working fine though. I can shift back and forth from 2h to 4h to 4l no problem. But the "service 4wd" is still on and my parking brake engages automatically now when I shift into park.
Anybody had this problem?
It's in the dealer shop now and waiting. Just wondering if it's a small issue. I don't want to get raped by theses dealers.

Have to sift through a lot of opinions but sounds pretty similar to what you are describing. Based purely on the above link seems like transfer case control module or transfer case actuator/range position sensor? Sounds like you’re not alone, hopefully dealer can get it fixed for you.

They might or might not. But my problem with this "problem" is it shouldn't be happening to new trucks. It's happening to people with trucks newer than mine. This should be a law suit. They charge an arm and a leg for these and it breaks within a couple of years?! This is just criminal already.

But yeah...I do hope they fix it.

Thanks for the response. Wish me luck.

Update on "service 4wd". It was the transfer case range positioning sensor. For some reason it automatically engages parking brakes when parked.
They are related and I told the service person this. But they said if I wanted to check the parking brake issue I would get charged the extra diagnosis.
So if this happens to you don't ask to diagnose the parking brake. Once they fixed the transfer case range positioning sensor the parking brake fixed itself after the "retrained" the computer.
