Hello, I'm looking for a better quality replacement for my original Ranchos, because one has already broken and I don't have much confidence in it. However, they should not be higher than the original shock absorbers, just better quality. I found the one from Bilstein B 5100. What do you think, does anyone have experience with this?

I would later raise the front shock absorbers by 1.75 inches with the kit from Readylift, so that it stands nice and horizontal. Does anyone know this? Does 4WD still work with this lift kit or are there other limitations?

Because I'm not so familiar with these things, I prefer to ask the professionals ;-))

Thank you!

I was just thinking the same thing. These Ranchos suck. Both GM and Rancho should be embarrassed
I already have the Ready Lift 2.0 and was hoping to put the bilstein snap ring in the middle position and then use the top hat spacer from the 2.0 lift.

I have Bilstein 6112 in the front and 5100 in the back. I do like them but be prepared to feel every bump in the road. They are great for off-roading, towing and have great handling and control. I may go with the Fox 2.0 or 2.5 later down the road but for now the Bilstein are still way better than the sucky Rancho's

this will be my next addition to the SUSPENSION RIDE QUALITY game...CANT WAIT !

I’ve had both brand shocks on different trucks, the Bilsteins are definitely a “better” shock but I also had the shaft unthread itself from the eye. Something to be aware of. You’ll be happier with the Bilsteins

I am running the Bilstein 6112/5100 Combo at stock height and it is night and day difference. ICON UCA's too.
so how does this set up handle bumps in the road, I've seen numerous posts saying it's smoother and others say that it's rougher? This is my first truck I was surprised at how rough it was, but I've halfway gotten used to it after 2 years.

I think its about managing expectations. The Ranchos were garbage. Rear end hopped all over and just felt awful. I did the Bilsteins, and also went up to an E Rated tire, the MT Baja Boss. Now the truck feels planted, doesn't hop, and absorbs everything in a consistent way, and I am happy with it.

I did that almost exact set up ready lift 2.0 with 5100’s all around .. there is a thread on here some where from a couple of years ago when I did it… very happy with it no issues running 35/12.50 on ICON 18’s zero offset mudflap delete .

I also went with the Bilstein 611w for front with the 1.75" level, Cognito UCA and 5100 Bilstein in rear. Couldn't be happier. Just swapped out my old Duratec tires for Toyo Open Country. Went with 285/75/18. Way happier with new stance

If you go with 6112 Bilstein Coil Over in front and set the setting to 1.75, you won't need a readylift level kit.

Did you have to use wheel spacers? Any rubbing?

I used 5/8" spacers only to be certain it would not brush up to UCA. I had plenty of room. My wheels don't rub at all. I have Fuels 18" rims with 9" and + 20
With the space you had, could you of used a zero offset rim with or without spacer ?
