Unfortunately the dog died, however so, at least she didn’t suffer.

It was extremely dark, my brights didn’t even make a difference. I have since, bought upgraded lights from lasfit to be able to see better. I struck the dog doing 50 mph. She impacted on the passenger side right by the recovery hook.

The damage done: the fog light, the fascia, recovery hook insert, bumper, and the filler (side air vent on the front). It actually pushed the bumper in. That’s just outside visible damage.

The parts charges are about $1500 not including any kind of labor, or hidden damage in that crumple zone.

I am using insurance on this to get factory parts, then I am buying steel bumpers. I would recommend to anyone that they consider bumpers that reach out past that filler and kind of protect it. Otherwise, you’ll still risk that getting ripped off if you were to hit an animal.
