Supercharger?

There are a couple...but it is pricey depending on the year.

I am looking at doing some heavy options....
1. Supercharger and tuning (15K)
2. Cam.and tuning (5k)
3. Live tuning (3.5k)

Knowing you have to tune anyway, I plan to start there....I have seen several 6.2 trucks gain close to 70hp and equal torque from live tuning....even others have videos showing this...all.depends on how weak the stock tune is, and if any bolt ons are done.

I have an intake and exhaust...I could see decent gains. Bit in all, if I can see 550 crank horsepower...that may hold me over enough till I decide to trade. Who knows....I change my mind and vehicles like i do underwear

Was looking at some superchargers that take the truck from 350ish hp to over 595hp just from bolting it on with stock everything (estimating off memory). Pretty impressive, but 9k usd without labour.

Most are right in the range...the 6.2 says 650hp.
Right in line with the lower HP 5.3 numbers

It is spendy, but I keep seeing TUNES alone gain really impressive numbers

Ones is from up your way...dyno authority

Yes, I have a magnuson 2650 on my 2020 5.3. I tuned it with HP tuners and did a dfm delete with an L8T cam. It's great, has plenty of power. Is it worth the cost ($10k+ with ECU unlock and cam swap, I did my own labor)? That's debatable. This was my replacement for my 800hp CTSV and I've very happy with it.

Tuning these trucks is incredibly involved, especially if you do a bigger cam. Even my L8T cam which is essentially the same as tock still took me ~6 months to fully iron out and make it drive like stock.

I have been looking into the Magnuson supercharger for my 6.2. Would you say it is more worth it if you skipped the cam swap? I just have my DFM deactivated with a tuner right now. But I thought about installing it myself after reading the instructions, then tow it somewhere for the tune. Would you say that might be more worth it?

Yes it’s still worth it. The cam isn’t necessary. It’s more for durability for me. The L8T cam is virtually the same profile as the 5.3 cam.

Buy the kit from Lingenfelter and buy their tune. If everything else is stock their tune will be fine. You’ll be able to sell your pulsar since the dfm and auto start will be off in the tune instead. It’s a relatively easy install and their instructions are ok minus the part about the iat, baro breakout box.

Wow, very clean look.

So how much for just the supercharger and tune on stock everything else? $

What was final HP for you at the end?

$7000 for the supercharger
$1200 for the tune file from LPE
$600-1200 to unlock the ecu depends on what year truck you have.
$400 for HP tuners
$300-$800 in credits from HP tuners
I would recommend a set of NGK iridium 7 heat range plugs too.

No idea what power mine makes. I never put it on a dyno and probably never will. But I have no reason to believe it makes any different than their 550hp claim.

Hard to say. I put 295/70/18’s on a couple months after the supercharger and I was still refining the tune. I typically get 16.5mpg per tank if I drive normal. But that’s with ~35’s. My speedo is corrected in the tune, so those are accurate numbers.

I was getting 18 before the blower and 35’s, but with the cam and tuning.

I do have to run 93 octane now vs 87 before.
