Any of you guys stripped off the black on your rims?? I'm old school and like that aluminum look. Like to leave some black on. Just wondering if anyone has done this.

It could be done but it wouldn’t be worth the time/effort/expense.
Better off just selling the stockers and getting different wheels.

You'd be better off letting a wheel repair place do this for you. They can polish or brush up the areas that you want for bare aluminum. The wheels will still need to be clear coated as bare aluminum will oxidize and turn the finish chalky white if left exposed. It should only run you about $600-800.

PHXPHOTOG and I have discovered a way to take the paint off the stock wheels: Do such heavy-duty Off Road wheeling in sand and gravel that the paint is just scraped right off. This however may be the more difficult, slower and generally Uneven way of doing it ...
