First all I live in the North Ga mountains, so my area is a little hilly. I read somewhere that driving in tow haul mode would make life easier on descending on a hill and going up a hill. I rather not drive in L9 to get around the DFM. Pushing the tow hall mode button is a lot easier. I don’t tow anything yet, but I do get loads of rock from time to time, so I would use that mode for that. But just wanted to make sure when just running around that I am not hurting something or wearing something out. I do seem to read a lot about tow haul mode not working, so I don’t know if that is from people over using that option all the time. I have to admit, the truck is very snappy while driving in T/H mode.

i have beed running Tow/Haul mode in every GM since the early 2000's...i have never had any issues.

even my 17 company truck with the notorious convertor issues last well into the 150K mark before any issue, our tech said it was one the longest lived by far...most went about 50K before failing

So your saying, it is safe to run around in T/H Mode without having a load? And just driving around in my hilly terrain is fine in that mode.

Pretty sure it doesn't disable DFM at all. I tried it on my way home tonight and it just held gears longer but on deceleration it still drops cylinders. It sounded pretty bad hanging onto 9th gear as my Magnaflow muffler delete has a bad drone at 1700-1900RPM when it's not running on all 8. I turned off tow haul and it dropped into 10th and dropped RPM and went back to being quiet. This is in my 21 Custom with the 6.2L 10 speed.

what i can say, is every gm vehicle i have owned with the Tow/Haul selection...has been used regularly in the T/H mode for just daily commuting

even the wife claims she likes doing DD duties in the T/H mode. Never had a single issue

True, at least on the 2014-2018 AFM models there was a V4/V8 indicator.
