What rotors and pads are you using? I just started towing a 31 foot travel trailer that is 2 axels so the trailer has electric brakes with my 5.3L. Currently I'm running stock rotors and Powerstop pads in the front and stock pads and rotors in the back. Thinking of using the same set up in back. What set up do you guys use when towing the same amount as me? Is it worth getting PowerStop rotors and pads all the way around even if the trailer has brakes?

I pull a 6K lb trailer through the mountains of AZ, UT, ID, WY and running stock brakes. Never had a problem.

I tow 6,000 lbs and use stock brakes. It’s a little mushy but seems to stop well enough. I use a lot of engine braking when in the mountains. I’ve never had a panic break situation, but I feel the stoping power is adequate.

I read a few reviews of the Powerstop pads and rotors kit on Amazon and one guy said his stopping distance was worse after changing to Powerstop. I’m interested in what others have experienced with aftermarket pads/rotors.

Just switching pads / rotors from stock to aftermarket is not going to provide much improvement if any.
