What is everyone doing when they put aftermarket wheels on their trucks? Are you using the stock sensors or are you buying aftermarket ones? Reason I'm asking is b/c my wife wants new rims on the Tahoe.

If you bought aftermarket sensors, were you able to get them reprogrammed so they didn't throw a code? What brand are they?

Thanks in advance!

My shop swapped out the OEM sensors for the new wheels. I would have preferred new sensors but it didn’t happen… I’m curious about other units as well.

If you don't buy OEM sensors make sure the aftermarket ones meet OEM spec for the vehicle they're going on. A tire shop can reprogram them easily or inexpensive tools are available to DIY...

What year is the Tahoe? I don't know about those, but on the trucks when they did the 22.5 refresh and went to Global B architecture, they now are "auto learn" vs the older sensors that you needed a relearn tool to pair them. I have aftermarket wheels and sensors I bought off ebay on my 21 Trail Boss. I have the generic 315/433mhz pairing tool I got off ebay for about $15. You put the truck in learn mode via the TPMS screen and then it guides you around the vehicle with lighting a marker light on which wheel to pair and then use the tool until the horn beeps confirming the sensor is successfully paired.

my 23 had the sensors swapped to aftermarket...they have never worked. i can reset and get about 20 miles and they quit reading. looking to swap to a GM sensor and hopefully fix this issue

local dealer, was able to program...GM may have done an update. but they registered
