Well... I was supposed to be getting my Trail Boss right about now but my truck hasn't even been built yet. The last update my dealer has is that GM accepted the order. Well, they shut down the plant to transition to the 23MY so I likely wouldn't see my truck until the end of the year. Me, being the impatient POS that I am, decided to abandon my custom order to take a truck they have coming in sooner that has already been built and is being shipped soon. My new truck will be a ZR2 instead of a Trail Boss! Because my Trail Boss was going to be a 23MY, price was going to go up again, so it would likely be $3000-4000 more than the price it was when I placed the order, which ends up being within $2000 of the price of this ZR2 they have coming in. Needless to say, I am pretty excited to be getting my truck sooner and that it's a freaking ZR2!! I'll post some pics when I pick it up.

One major down side though, the ZR2 won't have the Multi-Flex tailgate. I was pretty hyped to have it but I guess it's a fair compromise lol. Also, dealer said it is not possible to swap a Multi-Flex on to a truck that does not already have it, anyone have an insight on this?

*UPDATE* Dealer is getting an identical ZR2 even sooner that has a Multi-flex and I swapped to that one! Should be here in about a week

Sorry to hear about the TB being switched to 2023 on you, but hey the ZR2 is a nice compromise. I tried to order a 2023, but it already had packages that were unavailable, so I did what you did and am taking one they ordered for the dealership long ago. That was 3 weeks ago, the update over the weekend says my 2022 TB is built and awaiting shipping in Mexico. Let's see who's gets here first!!

It was frustrating because I ordered before the 22 price increase, they say it hasn't been accepted by GM yet so I have to pay the increase, then they say it hasn't been built yet so it'll be a 23 so I have to pay that increase too. My $65k TB turned in to a $68k TB. This ZR2 is $73,500 or so but they are offering $1750 off so only a $3750 difference between TB and ZR2, not bad IMO.

What configuration is the TB you're taking? Color, engine, etc.

Mine will be a 2022 Trail Boss Dark Ash (one of my 3 color choices) 20" rims, 3.0 Duramax, refresh interior w/ black leather, and the dark essential package. Only negative is I am not a sunroof guy and this truck will have one. I picked Duramax because I want the good mileage, mine will be personal driver and do some light towing. My part of Texas is fairly flat so not a lot of off-road in the plans, but who knows.

Hell yeah! That’s a great build. I am partial to the 6.2 but the mini max is great. Also, Dark Ash looks soooo good in person! I’m not a sunroof guy either, didn’t order mine with it but the ZR2 has one.

Mine will be in Sand Dune!

That's stinks, same thing happened to me. I ordered a '22 Custom LTD back on Oct 1st. Received a call the beginning of Dec from the dealer informing me that we missed the cutoff for ordering a LTD and I would have to get a refreshed model. No talk of extra money even though the refresh models were $2-3k more across the board, so I agreed. Recieved a call the very next night from the dealer informing me that GM dropped the 6.2L from the Custom for refreshed models so if I wanted the 6.2L engine I needed to change my order to a LT model which was $6500 more. I asked for 24 hours to think it over but eventually agreed because no dealerships within 100 miles had the color I wanted and only a few had TB's with a 6.2L. It took another 3.5 months for it to get to my dealership (a month of that was sitting at a rail yard two hours from the dealership). I took delivery the same day it arrived at the dealership (second Monday in April). Ironically or maybe not, on the same delivery truck was the exact '22 LTD I had originally ordered but with a 5.3L. That makes me wonder a little if they screwed up my order and then reordered which caused the missing of the deadline?

Perry, that sucks but seems like we are all chasing the TB with exactly what we want and with the shortages on chips, it seems to make the 6..2 and 3.0 Duramax models way harder to find built the way we want. I know they go as soon as they get to a dealer or even before. Glad you got your color but for you sounds like a pretty steep bump in cost as you got hit with 2 increases. Hope your happy with what you finally got!! I can't wait for mine to get here.

When I ordered the Custom there were some options on the LT that I wanted but didn't think the price increase was worth it. So in the end not a big deal as I got more options I wanted and I really like refresh model.
