Hello! I'm in the market for a new truck in the next few months. I am looking at both the lt trailboss and rst. Hopefully both with a 6.2. If you guys were to do it again would you stick with the trailboss or go rst?

I thought the RST is a street truck and the TB off road. Just depends on your preference.

It is but I have read some guys prefer to get the rst and add a lift over going with a trailboss.

I just did it 1 month ago and while i dont off road as much as some I still chose the TB . I drove a rst and a gmc with the q31 package .

Depends on how GM is pricing at any given time. In the 19-21 time period, the LT Trail Boss was the sweet spot in value. When I was shopping in 2022-23, it was the RST. There were little to no discounts on the TB and they were difficult to find. My plan was to pick up an RST and do lift and tires. I haven't been shopping in over a year so i'm not current on what GM is pushing right now.

Chose the 5.3L TB over the RST back in 2022. Drove both and personally liked the way the TB felt over the RST. Also have heard through my mechanic that the 6.2L engines have been having issues with burning through oil and other things. If you don't need that size engine to haul than I would stay away from it. Also runs premium fuel as well.

Trail Boss all the way. It has the Sport Mode for most people. However I have a TB with a different engine and billet transmission now. I was stuck getting the RST originally because of no white TB available in 2020 and then the fabricated COVID pandemic happened. Then my original white TB showed up. Parted with the RST the next day. I will never look back!

I would say Trailboss, if you go RST you'll probably regret it every time you pass a TB. If you go with the TB I doubt if you will say that you wish you had an RST when you pass one.

verify all DRIVE MODES...my 23 TB does NOT have sport. that said, ID all additional fluid coolers and features. I just detailed a 23 RST, it has slightly more features (360 camera, Max towing...) and was lower price than my TB. As much as i hate electronics...that camera option was nice. if your staying mostly on road, and not real wheeling...you dont gain anything with a trailboss. everything makes it easier to source parts, mainly suspension...way to much confusion around WHAT a TB suspension is for most people.

it is a 2" longer shock front and rear, with a 2" rear block.
