This is the second Trailboss I have owned. First one should have been my don't buy again. First one had electrical issues. Esc issues, not starting issues, dropping into out of 2w to 4 wheel on its own on the highway issues. Within 50k kms I had every wire harness in the truck replaced twice!

2nd one 27k km's Saturday decided it wouldn't go into reverse after no problems earlier in the day. As I was taking it to the dealership it dropped out of drive then slammed into drive at 30km an hour in town. I'm not hard on the truck and I only tow the sxs trailer with the sxs. If it's 3000 pounds I'd be surprized.

Well I guess I get to wait for the back ordered valve body. Wonderful. Good thing I have warranty and they will put me into a rental.

This sounds exactly like mine. This happened to me at the end of May with my 5.3L / 10 spd trans. I pulled into a parking lot and then went to reverse, and it acted like it was in neutral. I had to push it out of the parking space. Forward gears worked at slow speed until I got on the highway, then it shuddered and shifted hard like it was searching for all the wrong gears. The check engine light came on and it reduced power so I could only drive about 35 mph. I had it towed to the nearest dealership (two towns away) the first week of June. They ordered a valve body, but it's back-ordered with no ETA. Thankfully I'm at 36,000 miles and still under warranty. I was told they would reimburse me $40/day for 10 days for a rental. Are they providing you with a rental until it's fixed? Or are they also doing the $40/day for 10 days for you? BTW there's no rental car I can get for that in Alaska in the summer during tourist season. I work about an hour away from home, so I've been begging and borrowing vehicles from family and friends for the last month and a half to get to and from work.

So I got lucky. I was put into a rental and they paid for it. I refused to pay for it. I demanded that they either put me into one of thier lot vehicles or put me into a rental truck. No if and or buts. They had my truck for almost a month before I got it back but alas it will be going back in to the dealership tomorrow since its a holiday here today for remembrance day.

I have a 2022 Silverado Custom Trail Boss and I had a complete valve body failure...no reverse nor forward gears. I have the same 10 speed transmission and also the 5.3L. My truck has been in the shop since February 3, 2025. The new valve body part finally arrived and is supposed to be installed this week. There was no ETA for the new valve body part until after I filed a "Demand for Arbitration" hearing via the Lemon Law in the state I reside. I am continuing with the Lemon Law case and pursuing the vehicle buyback option. Since such a major issue happened to my vehicle, I attempting a buyback via the Lemon Law in the state I reside. I am afraid damage could have been done to the actual transmission and/or torque converter as well, who knows??? Also, I continue reading about more and more vehicles and various years having numerous problems related to valve bodies, torque converters, and transmissions.

Watch this clip. This is very interesting. I do have a Lemon Law case ongoing for my 2022 Silverado Trail Boss.

After 68 days out of service, I finally got my TB back. They replaced the valve body so crossing my fingers I won't have any more issues for the life of the truck or at least for as long as I keep it if I decide to follow through with my Lemon Law case.???🤞
