Has anybody found an aftermarket UCA that doesn't require the strut bucket tab to be cut?

I will be getting leveling coilovers shortly and will also need to upgrade the UCAs but I don't really want to have to cut that tab off. I just don't like modifying my trucks where I have to cut pieces off.

Truck is a 22.5 refresh w/ LM2. It's a LTZ with the TrailBoss suspension on it.

you wont gain the better ride without cutting them....when doing a level, you get so close to them that any droop causes them to hit.

if you want, just smack them down some.

I have cognito UCA and I didn't need to cut anything and they don't come close to the tab. There design allows for better down travel. I have the ones with the bolt on ball joint.

you probably should go read the COGNITO INSTALL instructions....it clearly states to cut the limit stop...as do nearly all arm companies.
you cannot GAIN any droop (which is where the better ride comes from), without removing that, it is set for a stock height amount of droop. any other coil assembly that adds droop, or a spacer that lowers the coil assembly, will make contact...and that is what causes the ball joints to break...

"Due to the added droop travel when using the Cognito upper control arms, the service perch under the upper
control arm which is welded to the frame, must be cut off. Locate a cutting tool (such as a reciprocating saw) and cut
both the service perch located on the rear side of the shock tower. The cut will be parallel to the shock tower."

I just checked them out. There are two different UCS styles that Cognito sells. One is a boxed and the other is tubular w/ bolt-in balls joints. The boxed ones require cutting the tab but the tubular ones do not.

I also didn't think about bending it down some. I will give that a try and see how much they will actually move.

I'm likely going with the Dirt King 2.0 and would like to purchase the entire kit but if I have to piece it all together I will.

@07blackz71 , did you have to ziptie all the cables or do they now come with tabs to use factory hardware?

i run the readylift tubular, there was no mention of cutting the tabs. i have also added the lower spacer to my FOX coils for a total of 3.75", and it does not touch the droop stops. i have wanted to trim them, just havent gotten to it, as i need to install the limit strap at he the same tiem.

Just so glad I took my truck in to have the BDS complete system put on. No issues ever!;)

I have the tubular design that does not need any cutting. The a-arm does not come to the bracket at all.

I had to zip tie the brackets to the arm. 7 months with no issues. I did think about drilling and tapping a hole to bolt them on but never got around to it.

@Stormin08 which ReadyLift arms do you have and about how many inches over stock TB height are you? There are three SKUs listed for my truck and when I reached out to see which one would be best for a roughly 1" TB level (3" over stock Z71), he said they don't have anything for that height and cannot 100% recommend one or the other and which one would provide the best angles.

@07blackz71 , you have a 1.5" level, correct (based on your signature)?
