Updates my new trail boss software today via the console. Now adaptive cruise control isn’t working and lane assist isn’t working. Steering wheel wants to lock up when turning (almost feel like lane assist try’s to work for a second when it doesn’t need to.) anyone experiencing this?

Do you remember what the update number was? I just got one today. This is very concerning. I did not pull the trigger yet, but I may tell it to forget about it. I don’t think your the only one who has had issues with the update.

If its the update hawk99gt has pictured, I had issues with that one. It hung up during the instal process at 58% keeping the microprocessor running for a few days before it eventually killed my battery. After the dealer took care of it, park assist wasnt working properly for a few days but that seems to be ok now, auto stop/start seems to be working differently. Doesnt seem to shut off as much anymore, thats when i forget to disable that damn thing and the climate control when on auto seems wonky. I've noticed the fan doesnt seem to be on high when i first start it and then it seems to cycle back and forth between high and low randomly. Just weird. I dont have adaptive cruise and havent really noticed anything weird going on with lane keep assist.

Larry, are you in a 22 or 23 TB? I think you have convinced me on holding off on this update.

Well happy to report that I took the risk and did the update. It had already downloaded prior due to my settings. I did get an on screen message that the update was successful. The install took about 13 minutes to do. I walked away, had some lunch, came back and hopped in the truck and everything seemed to operate fine. No wacky setting changes. Hopefully, everything is good. 🙏

More updates became available today and some description of what they are updating. The only thing that went a little crazy was the AC unit. It Sped up and then slowed down. It repeated this for the first 20 seconds and then it calm down back to normal. This all happened after starting the truck. So far still OK.

about these updates, mine somewhat seemed to force one tonight...i saw a blip of it saying schedule, i was reversing at the time and the camera covered the screen...when i went back to drive, it was stating to shut vehicle off for update...

parking break will not release, front impact sensors are on, and 4wd is engaged and saying service 4wd system...tried to scan for another update and nothing...just buffers.

is a dealer trip the only option ? disconnect battery for a while...this i why i really did not want anything newer than an 86 !!!

if anyone watches or has questions regarding these updates...i sure do.

MY truck, 1200 (yes 1200) mile truck is a BRICK !
dealer spent most of the afternoon trying to complete and update...they claim the updates only improve the RADIOs function...REALLY ????

that said, mine has a vast arrays of communication codes, it cannot talk to itself, therefore, 4wd is engaged and service light is on, front impact system is in-op and needs service, the TPMS is not reading at least one sensor and needs service...not telling what else.

it took me bout 4 tries to get the parking break to disengage, just to get it on to the flat bed.

wouldn't be nice to have a truck that doesn't have all this. Juts a simple 4wheel drive, manual parking brake, simple back to basic transmission like a turbo 350 or 400.
Make it so any mechanic can fix it, you don't have to rely on the poorly trained deal techs that always look like they given up all caring about their job.
I dream of a day.

i have sworn for several years,, my next would be no newer than an 86...i generally restore my rides and do just that...
why i bought this, i have no clue.

I agree I have 1973 Step side, just haven't had the time to get into everyday driving shape, I hope to get it done soon

got a call this morning, after TRACC (??) got ahold of the controls, the flash was completed and is said to be all corrected.

we will see, but i know that if i can...the auto update feature will be set to OFF>

the truck it self would not communicate with the various other control modules...mainly the transfer case, which then effected speed related systems...TPMS, Front impact and Parking break functions
