This is the text from the dealer this morning. I guess the best possible scenario for the the situation.

Good morning man, great news their is no cam damage. Lifter pin broke on cylinder 3 lifter seperated. No lifter bore damage with that being said we will be goin back together with all new lifters per GM's repair bulletin truck should be done late tomorrow or early Wed.

No only on cylinder 3 but per the bulletin the production date and mileage requires all 16 lifters be replaced.

At least it sounds like you’ll have it back and repaired soon.
You a Louisville guy? I almost bought my TB from Bob Hook, but they had one come in that met everything I needed over at Coyle across the River so I opted for that instead of an order.

I am a Louisville guy. Tried buying from Bob Hook but they couldn't get what I wanted at the time. Lol I couldn't wait. So I bought mine in West Virginia.

I'm just happy to get all the lifters replaced.

What year is yours? I have a 2021 5.3 and had to have all lifters replaced at 5500 miles.

In total, GM sold more than 1 million full-size pickup trucks and SUVs in 2021.
Curious how many had/have valve train problems? Even 1% is 10,000 units.

Back when I had mine fixed, I asked the service manager about how many they get, and he said it was 50/50. Luckily, I did not have to wait more than 4 days. I was reading horror stories from around the country that people had their trucks at the dealership for over a month waiting on parts to come in.
