Posted this in another thread, but not sure it was seen:

Does anyone know how adding the 1.75 leveling kit, spacers and tires affects the warranty? I called my Chevy dealership service dept and they said to contact GM. I figure there’s enough people here who have done it that surely someone has the answer.

It should only affect suspension components, if even that. I usually dump the factory tires for something more aggressive or a higher rating (depend on vehicle and what it is used for) and at least rear shocks. Never affected anything other than the components replaced. SM one time noted the more aggressive tires and Bilsteins and jokingly noted I killed the warranty on tires and shocks.
If a lift, they MIGHT make a case for more stress on a component part.
However, the main and expensive items on the vehicles such as the powertrain and electronics should not be affected.

so wheel/tire combo being heavier, larger....more resistance has ZERO effect on the trans of drivetrain ????

think hard, they have way more money than you to fight the case.

So when I purchased my TB, within a couple weeks I had a licensed off-road dealer install the complete BDS six inch lift, Fox shocks, and traction bars. I take it to the dealer I bought it from for all recalls and service work and have had NO ISSUES with warranties or repairs. Ask, but as long as it was installed professionally there should be no issues. That's just me though.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states that a manufacturer cannot deny warranty coverage for an issue unless they can prove that an aftermarket part has caused the issue in question. I had lifters replaced under warranty with a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust installed, and they didn't give me any grief. I know that's obviously a little different than a lift kit, but the law still remains.

That makes sense. I figured there had to be something there. Didn’t think 90% of the people on this forum just voluntarily voided their warranties to level their trucks and run some bigger tires, lol.

we all run the risk...but also know, that within reason...our mods wont do harm

You guys getting your installs at Chevy dealers are fortunate. I’ve called 2 in my area, including the one where I purchased the truck, and both said they could only install GM parts.

I modded mine the day I got it. But it's never been to the dealer for anything since I drove it away (y)

Did you get a tuner to adjust your speedometer and what not, or did someone do it for you? I’m going to call around tomorrow, but one of the dealers told me yesterday they wouldn’t even make system adjustments like that.

There are devices that will adjust for tire size, depending on your year....it can vary in price, upto about 3K for a full tune on a refresh truck, 800 ish just for tire size....and I have not looked at the older model devices for prices
