What’s up everyone? 😂 sorry had to get the energy flowing early on. My name is Jersy, and I live in Riverview, Fl. That’s about a 45 minute drive from Tampa. I’m a Taurus, and I love long drives on the beach ……. I’m just Joshin 😂 glad to join the community. Thank you for having me.
I am currently the proud owner of a stock 2021 1500 Trail Boss. Her name is Jackie, and she’s got almost 130k miles on her. I’m saddened to say that she was hit with an acute case of lifter failure and is in need of a lifter and camshaft transplant.
I found myself looking for guidance and support and I came across this community and reading some of the posts, I knew this was the right place to look for answers.
I’m good with tools and work well with my hands but the way my checking and savings works, I’m having to do the repairs myself to make it happen. I look forward to reading all the advice and hearing all feedback on the forums, and can’t wait to share the experience and results with the community. I know it’s a long road ahead, but with your help, I know I’ll have Jackie back on the streets turning heads. Talk to you soon! Thanks! 🤙🏽

If you have the skill to open her up and do it yourself then I'd look into what you have to do to remove the DFM system. It can be done, but that's for a paygrade much higher than mine.

Yeah, I agree. It is a little intimidating but I feel confident though. I’m no mechanic but I have worked on my vehicles before but not to this extent. Good thing is she’s already opened up from the mechanic that gave me the diagnosis so I’m kinda in a good starting point since I didn’t have to go digging for the problem.
Being in construction I know having the right tools and specs are somewhat the same if that makes sense. Right way and wrong way to do it. I’m still in the planning phase so I’m still at an early stage that I could go with a shop doing it if it makes sense money wise.
Has anyone on here attempted or done the dod or full rebuild diy?
