What is everyone's solution to lock your truck but keep your keys safe when you aren't able to keep your keys with you? Example would be going swimming at the beach. This is for a 2023 keyless entry/start Trail Boss.

Thanks!

You can always take the door key, from the fob, with you and leave the fob in the truck. I have the GM keypad that uses a code like the Fords do but haven't had it programmed yet. I had one on my 2018 Sierra. I've also used a Realtor key lock box and just locked it to the hitch.

find mine...and its yours, mine are always in the gas door :)

generally, i just hide mine somewhere, could be tail pipe, in a bumper....hell, i tuck them everywhere

You can get combination safe things that go into your receiver hitch. I have one that is outside the receiver and goes through as a pin with a keyed lock on the end.

I use the HitchSafe. Works well in my experience. I keep a spare set of keys in it when wheeling in the back country too, just in case. Note... lube the drawer with silicone spray to keep it from sticking closed. I found that one out the hard way! :ROFLMAO:

Problem is with the keyless system, you'll most likely be able to unlock the doors since the fob is inside and then start it. You'd need a Faraday pouch to put the key in so the truck can't read it's there.

It won't unlock because the fob is in the truck. I've left the fob in the bed with the bed cap closed and the tailgate wouldn't open, by pushing the button, when I came back to it. I haven't tested if there's a delay though.

Tailgate won't open if the truck is locked. I believe only the cab buttons will unlock the truck(and tailgate) with the keyless.
