Wheel and tire size help plz

I would like to get a wheel/tire combination that gives my truck a more aggressive stance but want to avoid significant modification such as lift or cutting of the fender wells. I have a 2025 trail boss with the 2" factory lift and level. Current wheels are 20x9 with 260/65/R20 all terrain tires. I've been using AI to try to find my most aggressive with minimal rub and it is landing at 20x9 0 offset, 285/60/R20 tires. This will give me a 1.5" 'poke' out but minimize rub potential. I do have mudflaps, pic attached

I'm hoping for some real world insight because while this option would improve the look of the truck, i'm not sure it's worth the 3k price tag :)

Would appreciate any input, thx.

20x9 ZERO OFFSET, may move the wheel 1.5"...but not generate POKE>
this is the most common size to achieve the largest tire with the least amount of cutting or trimming.

i chose a mudflap delete (for looks first), and i always push the liners back. typically, i will also stay to an 11.5" wide tire (handles much better overall)

this is an older pic, but i currently run a 37x12.5 on the same set up. still have cut the liners, just tucked them as far as possible and removed the thin crash brace (if you will) behind the rear of the front liner.


the biggest thing with the ZERO offset, is the spoke design. if the wheel spoke starts on an angle from the hub (slanted to barrel), it may rub the raised face of the brake caliper. If the spoke/hub is more squared and projects straight and flat to the barrel...you should clear. i have another post with some pics on this forum. most wheel sites will recommend a 6mm spacer to ensure you clear the caliper face

@Stormin08 those pics are zero offset wheels? It sounds to me that what you're saying is there is no way without lifting the truck further to get the poke i want without modifying the wheel wells?? I really dont' have the skills for that sort of thing, and I don't want to impact vehicle warranty in any way right now.

EDIT: I should also state that this will be a strictly on road vehicle... any situations of serious suspension compression would be extremely rare.

if you are leveled, and wanting a 35x12.50 ISH tire...the ZERO offset is it. You can swing that number out to about to a -12 ( if you dont mind moving the liners)...Pushing the liners is stupid simple. There is a plastic bolt on bracket behind the liners (front and rea)...remove that, it is only a wind deflection device for the liner. Push them, drill into a spot of flat metal and use a TREE CLIP...DONE ! the mudflap will most likely need some trimming.

Ok thanks that is more helpful. I was thinking of the 20x9 -12 with a 33.5 inch tire, like 285/60/r20. That should be achieveable with minimal modification?
 
I have a few pics trying to load, it is the above wheel on YOUR truck...with mudflap intact, but trimmed.

here are some "right now" pics. Just walked out a took these...
this truck is leveled with the use of the FOX 2.0 Coil overs only. i will try to grab a few good side pics to show stance.
Take a peak at your mudlflap, i know this guy wanted to retain them (obvious reasons)...but i do recall performing a slight trim to them. this truck has zero rub with the same 35x11.50 tire...this is my old set old, installed straight to his ride.

Excellent thread, lots of good info, thanks! Anyone run 275/65/20s (34.1 x 10.8) on stock rims ? I don't think they would be too much "pizza cutter". That tire size is about 1" taller and the same width as my oem 275/60/20s. I don't love the 20" rims for off-roading but also hate to spend $ on new rims as well.
 
FWIW I had the stock 20s and wanted more sidewall for a multitude of reasons so I went with a LT285 70 18 (33.7) with +1 offset rims. This pushed mine out about 1.5" most notably adding clearance from the upper control arm. Zero rubbing, zero trimming, stock trailboss suspension. I am much happier with the stance and look. Heavier tires hit my mpg about 1-2.

I’m running LT 285/75/18 with the stock TB 18s zero rubbing technically are 35/11.5/18 also have mud flap delete helps a lot.
