Wheel spacer for what diameter wheel?

I read on here that some are installing 1/4" or 3/8" wheel spacers for UCA clearance with bigger tires.
Is that only for 18" & 17" wheels?
I have 20" and can't see that there would be a clearance issue with a wider tire.
 
It's not the diameter of the wheel that matters with UCA clearance, it's the offset. I run a 1/4" spacer to clear the brake caliper ridge with my aftermarket 20" wheels. They have negative offset so there's no UCA clearance issues, but I'm also only running 275/60/20 tires.

 
That’s my stock size tire. I want to go bigger with the tire and run the factory wheels. I understand offset. What I don't understand is the brake caliper ridge. I guess I need a closer look at things.

I just had the ReadyLift 2.0 SST lift installed and put on MT Baja Boss 285/65/18. I had to add .25 spacers due to the UCA’s

it is 2 fold...diameter does have a play in this...offset is MORE of an issue with smaller Diameters...me running a 22" wheel has less concern with positive offsets, where as a an 18" would have more issues.

It depends where the diameter of the wheel is in relation to the suspension components behind it. From what I have seen with 18" wheels and wider tires is the contact between the tire and the UCA. If 20" wheels make it so only the wheel is the closest point to the UCA, that doesn't change with wider tires and then you wouldn't have clearance issues with the tire.

Installed 1/4” spacers on factory 18” rims to clear the 2” Ready Lift UCA. Installed 285/75/18. I do have the smallest of rubs backing up with a hard left. Hard to tell but the bottom of rail and front air dam are 18” off ground. Tire is 34.8” x 11.2. Closest you could get without tire poke. Didn’t want it due to beach driving and slinging sand and shells on the paint.

hello TB forum! looking to get the ReadyLift 2.0 SST discussed here and change my stock 20's to 18's and possibly run 35/12.5/18R. It looks like i need about a 1" spacer to avoid issues. My biggest question now that ive read some old posts, are there still issues using 4wd auto setting when the readylift is in stalled? ive been reading that it disables when the kit is installed but if you go with the 1.5" readylift, that appears to be a non issue.

To my knowledge the RL sst 2.0 doesn’t disable 4auto. RL suggests you not use it. It lifts the front high enough to change factory diff angles, which can potentially cause issues when the auto part of 4auto engages. It’s the torque applied on sudden engagement.

right??? thats exactly why im asking but ive ran across a few threads where that was mentioned right as i was about to purchase the kit.
