What is the preferred level kit for the trail boss? I’ve been looking at the ready lift 1.75 level, and the ready lift sst 2 inch. What’s the difference really and is one better than the other?

2 fully maxs the amount of droop you have left to achieve a decent ride. Depending on YOUR truck, the amount of rake you desire may aid in your choice. the 1.75 set mine perfectly...same truck, very differing styles

1.75 RL

Nice and level although any weight in the back and it'll drop a little easier as you basically throw the balance off by eliminating the rake.

Icon 2.5 coil overs and Icons 2.0 in rear. Leveled on 35s. Coming from the RL 1.75 this ride feels more stable and responsive.

Add an airbag system and never worry about it! Good investment.

@Texasmud , how firm are those ICONs? I know ride is subjective but how much more firm are they compared to the stock Ranchos?

I had 5100s on my previous truck and they were way too firm. Plus, the only coilovers that I can find for the TB that will actually provide a lift are ICON and Dirt King. Every other coilover that I can find will not provide any additional lift. Also, what control arms are you running? ICONs use a pretty heavy spring and are Digressive where Dirt King uses a slightly less heavy spring and are more Progressively valved.

Lastly, do you have the fender to ground measurements both front and rear?

the Fox adds lift as well. mine are at 3.5" total...1.5" LIFT to the TB

you are dabbling in a somewhat custom territory, you can spec almost anything you want, just have to be cautious with space and travel limits

I just realized you had the 2.5's. The 2.0 doesn't add any lift to the TB from what Fox told me directly.

The ride in my opinion is not as firm as my leveled 2005 Silverado with cranked torsion bars however it is considerably firmer than the ranchos. The bounce and sway is gone. The fender height is 43.5 upfront and 42.5 in the rear. That somehow leaves completely level.

To add, the control arms were leftover from the RL 1.75 kit. The kit has only been installed for a month but no issues to report. I’ll add in notes once past the 1K mile break in period.

How you liking the ICON s? I am thinking of putting them on with stock wheels, initially. I had added the Fab Fours bumper and a 10k winch that brought my front down about an inch. Initially just looking to level it.

i had hear FOX was releasing a 3-3.5" 2.0 version for the 1500ish price point. so far all i can find is the kit offered that is a 2" 2.0 WITH a lower spacer from FOX and a 2" rear block.

Burt, that does show anyone looking, that a FOX is compatible with a spacer. Some coil overs can come in contact with the upper arms at droop...another reason to run after market
