I have installed the FF Matrix bumper with a Winch.
With this installation, I need to relocate the Winch Control Box due to limited space (as seen in pic)
I would like to mount it in the engine compartment, but as you know, there's not much room under the hood in the GEN 4 Silverado 1500.

Looking for any suggestions, recommendations and others experiences in doing the same.

If you search for smittybuilt winch control box relocation kit you should be able to find a prebuilt harness that would make life easy...

When I built my Move Bumper and installed a Warn 12K I thought of doing similar but ended up drilling 4 holes and mounting the control box to the bumper. My winch mounts bottom forward to a 1/4" plate with the clutch re-clocked and no room to spare! ( you can see the 4 small bolts from the front just left of the license plate). I figure I can always go back and relocate if needed. As I recall there is quite a bit of room between the grill and radiator support or in a fender well but some creative mounting bracket work would be required. I am not a fan of having to open the hood if I need to use the wired remote so that is something to think on as well. 🤙

Thanks for the information.
I had the winch on my 2010 Silverado and the control box mounted in the engine bay (lots of space on the 2010), so I have the extension wiring already.
I like your alternative but would rather have it higher to keep it out of the mud/snow/yuck :). Thinking engine bay or somewhere around the horn.

By the way, i saw your post on the building and installation of your bumper, very nice (y) execution and setup.

Ended up using aluminum angle 2"x2" 5mm thick. Utilized two existing screws that were for the fender.
Just need to finish customizing cable lengths (shorten), connect to controller, attach ground and install shut off switch for the Positive.
I'll post pics once completed.

Only have a few minor things to clean up (wire ties, AUX Beam breaker, some wiring...) but here is the (almost) completed version.
I have installed a power switch so the controller/winch has no power until needed.
