Has anybody tried to install the Silverado ZR2 underbody skid panels to a non-ZR2? Specifically, the underbody transfer case skid plate? The ZR2 appears to have an additional cross member rearward of the transfer case that allows the shield to be mounted at both ends of the shield as opposed to the 2 bolts that only allow the skid to be mounted on one end for non-ZR2's(TB and Z71). I'm wondering if that cross bar would bolt up directly to a non-ZR2 and allow us non-ZR2 owners to have a true skid plate instead of the flimsy pseudo skid plate currently on the Silverado off road packages.

The frames appear to be otherwise identical from 2019 -Present, and there is no decidedly beneficial purpose for that additional cross member other than to mount the backside of the skid plate. I could be wrong, but I believe its sole purpose is to provide an additional mount for the skid plate to increase its rigidity so it doesn't flex upwards into the transfer case like the TB/Z71 skid plates commonly do, and provide minimal additional frame rigidity.

I deleted my first post because after some googling, I determined it to be unhelpful. That brace is almost definitely a bolt-in piece. You just have to find a part number for it so it can be ordered.

I'd rather have the stamped boron plates that AEV is putting on the Bison trucks. They had released the parts for the Colorados but have yet to release them for Silverados.

I need a fuel tank skid on. I can't believe it doesn't have one from the factory

mine.

You'll still need the brace that OP is talking about.
