What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? šŸ› ļø

LT package is nice too.. just my experience having had bothā€¦ power seat, center console, Bose , heated steering wheel, steering wheel controls ,power rear window, rear air , led lights, leather which I still use seat covers ā€¦not a big price jump Just nice to have ā€¦ but when I had my base 2017 Sierra 4x4 it was good and it had led headlamps from factory ā€¦may just me now at my older age ā€¦ I still love my 89 K5 Blazer( 30yrs with it) , which has none of that ..
I often finding myself wishing I had went for the LT. I still like my truck, and like it enough to not unload it for something else, keeps me tinkering changing stuff I want upgraded at least.

I had originally had the dealer holding a beautiful black Custom TB for me before I bought my Sterling Grey TB LT. But when I went to look at it I had my wife and daughter with me and they had nothing but complaints about the comfort level in it (like a work truck) when we went for a test drive. My old 2016 RAM Tradesman back seats were nicer then the Custom TB. Thicker seat cushions with storage under the seats and in the floor. Plus for the money I was going to spend, it was in the low 50's. I was already adding up everything I was going to have to do to this truck. Spray in bedliner ($450) was one of them.
Test drove an LT just for the heck of it and that was it. It wasn't even the one I bought. It was a certified used 2023 White TB LT. That center console, that large digital display with all the bells and whistles. I do wish now I had gone for the 6.2L engine instead of the 5.3. But mine is still plenty peppy. I smile at it every day. It makes the payment swallow go down a little easier.
I will admit I like tinkering too, but I did a boat load of that when I had my Tradesman, I took such good care of it and added every modern amenity to it i could throw at it. TufTruck 1211 rear springs, Rough Country Premium N3 rear shocks 2 inch lift & Rough Country Front N3 Struts 3 inch lift, 275/60r20 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T on Stock black rims, Flowmaster American Thunder 817568 Muffler. RAM flip cage, BAK BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover, Start-X Remote Starter, tinted windows, Fender Flares; Matte Black. K&N air filter. Barricade HD Bull Bar/skid plate & 20" led light bar; black
It sold in 4 days on my dealerships used lot after I traded it in. I will definitely be tinkering on this one. What am I saying, I have already started, lol.
Have fun with yours!

Iā€™ve only had it for a week, but hereā€™s my ā€˜20 LT. I de-badged and then only did the black fender emblems. Iā€™m going to leave the tailgate naked. I had a chance to install a weathertech lo-pro bed cover last night and stake pocket covers and Chevy bed liner. I need to power clean the garage and Iā€™ll be installing the AWE 0FG cat-back system, readylift SST 2.0 with Bilstein 5100ā€™s, pulsar LT, CAI cold air kit and a few other things Iā€™m forgetting. Oh yea, tint to match appointment is two Mondays from now. Here are a couple pics:

Today I did a preliminary detail trying to get ready for graphene coating. Washed and dried, iron remover and then a clay mitt and just a ceramic detail spray for now until I can get the graphene on. Iā€™ll do a strip wash and I feel like the whole truck could use a good compound at that time but weā€™ll see. I forgot how big these trucks are. Lol. I put some wheel spacers on last night until I can make a decision on wheels, but I really like the stocks. Again, weā€™ll see. Iā€™m staring at the CAI and pulsar LT and thinking I should get them put on after I hydrate and take a little break.

Been looking into the cai so keep us posted if you notice a difference šŸ‘

Just after a quick 25 mile trip this morning, the truck feels and sounds a good bit different. I shouldā€™ve done one thing at a time, but the intake sound is quite nice. Iā€™ve also turned off DFM with the Pulsar, and Iā€™m not exactly sure what effect that may have had on sound. Setting 3 on the throttle response was a very nice surprise.

What size wheel spacers did you use? Is your truck leveled or stock?

Mike, I went with 2ā€ spacers and Iā€™m at stock height until my new shocks arrive, and then Iā€™ll install the RL SST 2.0. I did need to remove front flaps and their brackets or it wouldā€™ve rubbed badly with the stock size dura-traks. Iā€™ve got McGaughyā€™s flap delete kit coming tomorrow. I may get aftermarket wheels at some point, but I really like the look of the stock 18ā€™s, and I really like the amount of poke that the 2ā€ spacers give. They were loctited and torqued to spec and Iā€™ve run spacers on trucks for probably 20 years without an issue so Iā€™m confident these will be just fine as well.

Hmm thatā€™s weird because I have stock 18ā€™s on stock duratraks with 2ā€ bora wheel spacers and no rub, didnā€™t have to modify anything. Wonder why yours were rubbing badly? I agree, the poke of the 2ā€ spacers adds a great deal to the stance of the truck! IMO itā€™s just enough to give it a bit more aggressive look

That is odd. Iā€™d say these tires have less than 1k miles on them, but it was obvious they were touching plastic at full lock just sitting in the garage.

My truck had about 15k when I put them on. Iā€™m wondering if they had worn down enough by then to not cause any issues with rubbing.

depending on WHERE the rub is happening..you alignment guy has some flexability in that as well.

the cams and arms can be drawn IN or OUT, as well as setting the alignment. if a really good tech knows what he is doing...you can narrow the track width ever so slightly, then start the adjustments...same goes for spreading track width. those 1/8" differences are just that.
