What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Not a big premotor of products or things done as everyone makes their TB their own. I had my truck completely ceramic coated (took 10 days) however I actually rinsed it off and cleaned last night and I was shocked at how much easier and faster it is to clean and wipe down. Thinking of doing it to our other cars. I'm SOLD on it!

I’ll put it on every vehicle I own for the rest of my life. I love how bug guts and other dirt just rinse right off. I’m a big fan of the Adam’s polishes. I use the graphene and then the graphene soap and detail spray. Foam cannon and pressure washer and leaf blower to dry the car, you basically don’t even have to touch it. Here’s my Camaro after the full treatment. Unreal reflection and depth in person.

^ You ain’t lying. I’ll never not have one ceramic coated. It’s a GAME CHANGER for those of us with vehicle OCD

I did a full mudflap delete and installed the McGaugheys kit. Can’t say that little kit is worth anywhere near what they charge. Pretty ridiculous in fact. They didn’t even use 3M tape on the covers. Lol. Oh well, looks way better than the giant factory flaps.

I 86’d the front license plate bracket the other night and just used the black plugs for the holes. Such a shame when a valance gets drilled on any vehicle. Front plate states are dumb! Lol

I want steps, but I can’t decide. Amp research was my first choice due to the clean look when stowed, but I’d rather not drop that much cash. Are there fixed boards that tuck up high close to the body but still provide a usable surface to step on?

Did a second clay mitt and graphene spray detail until I can do a real coating. It’s starting to look how I want it to look. Needs tint!

Rough Country offers a mudflap delete kit now for much cheaper than McGaugheys kit.

Was your truck destined for another state or did you buy it in another state? I ordered mine in Michigan which is a one plate state and it didn't come with the front plate bracket. Any previous vehicles I've purchased have had the plate mount included with the vehicle, but not installed.

I’m in WV and they don’t require the front plate. I bought this truck certified pre-owned and I saw it was registered in Maryland for a short time and they they are a front plate state. When I ordered my Camaro, it was also from a MD dealer and I told him many times not to install the front plate bracket before it ever showed up. Haha.

I’m a little OCD, but not enough for the black push plugs to bother me too much.

i am hunting some side steps as well...
i want the AMP steps, but dont like how they fit,

i dont mind the GM high clearance static step ( i like how they are higher and do not protrude to wide)...BUT DAMN 1200$$$$
not a chance. I will make something like a slider before i spend that.

i think the RB20 or 30 may be an option as well.

Making our own is what I'm working on. I need safe, wide steps for folks that I take to church with me. But I also want actual rock sliders ... I've already heavily damaged BOTH sets of steps that I have used.

But these are cheap, $200 or less products. Now I am working on cutting down the brackets for the first set, and welding these to some strong tubing for sliders. These DIY sliders will fit almost up against the body armor, nice and tight. The fasteners for Step Rails on our trucks are straightforward and easy to get to. So switching out one pair for another is definitely easier than switching from Summer to Winter tires, on say ... a Corvette.

(As a reminder, the little Forney 120V 140 FC-i inverter Welder is only $250 and works great! ... hint .. hint)

That looks awesome! I want to do the ready lift leveling kit on my 21 tb, but am hesitant because of the 4wd auto vibration issues. Have you had problems with it? Also…once the crappy Goodyear wranglers that came factory have worn out, I’m going to get larger aftermarket tires for my factory wheels like yourself. I don’t want to completely change the factory trail boss effects, just enhance them, and I think your truck is a great example of that. On mine so far I’ve done the front window tint, aftermarket projector headlamps with led trim, 2” wheel spacers, and k & n cold air intake. The intake definitely gives it a nice growl when you put the pedal down. I would eventually like to do something with the exhaust as well; nothing too crazy but just a little sound would be nice…since you get absolutely nothing from the factory
I'm looking at the K & N or the S & B cai and there's a lot of controversy about whether the ecu needs reprogrammed after. Have you had any issues or codes ??

Catching up on projects done a while back. These are the Bed Lights that I installed. There are times when I move stuff in and out of the bed, at night, and with the tonneau in place. The stock lighting is not sufficient.
This is a LED lighting Kit that I bought at O'Reilly auto parts, for about $35. The 12V NiMH Battery set was about $12, and the switch was about $10, as well. It took a bit more effort than I thought in would, and several heat-shrink, waterproof, butt-splice connectors. But I really like how it works.

And, there is no wiring going from the bed to the cab. There is a Pigtail connector to make it easy to charge the batteries.

edit: Oh, and the whole idea of doing it this way was to have lights that are up out of the way so they don't get damaged when we dump a full load of firewood into the bed from a Skid Loader. This has already been tested.

The switch is at left, and the batteries are held by a metal bracket tucked in behind the equipment mount.

Just a heads up, go rhino has a 25% off site wide promotion in place till midnight tomorrow. I’m seriously considering ordering a set of the slims.

I have not had any issues at all. Didn’t need to reprogram anything either. The only thing you’ll have to do is disable your air filter life indicator on the dash. So far I’ve done almost 30k miles with it installed, no problems.

i run the airaid jr setup, mainly to clean up the appearance of the under hood...i have about 1500 miles on mine (installed at about 150 miles)...Zero issues to date. idle is fine, throttle is fine, response is fine...there is a slight tone change under throttle, but it is a nice tone.

fabbing these and many other sets is easy peasy...i have my selection of welders to choose from...being a 15+ yr CWI, i have choices...

Anyone have seat covers they really like? I have 2 dogs and they shed like a mf'er. I don't want anything expensive, but would like something that's quality and fits good but still looks like stock seats.
