You have the right attitude!! I totally agree. Keep doing what you're doing. I don't think you'll have any issues whatsoever. I still can't bring myself to take $75k off the pavement and onto dirt, just yet......but I'm sure it will get there.
I know this is an older thread, but I had to comment on the "Off Road."
I took delivery on my Trail Boss LT on 7 June 24. So, I've had it a bit longer than 3 months. The truck still hasn't clocked 1K miles.
With all that said, within a week of getting it I took it for a tour of some nearby heavily hilled, terraced property. I knew it to be kept clear of limbs, briars, etc.
It wasn't what most of us would consider true "off roading" but I did come over a rise only to find myself squared up on a sizable terrace. Perish the very thought of me backing up! I told myself, "I reckon we're about to see how much good this two inch lift does."
It didn't completely bottom out, but I scuffed up a little mud with the passenger side running board. I knew I was at the worst possible angle and kinda expected it to make more contact than it did.
When I was a much younger man, I'd hit a pipeline or powerline trail on the way home from the dealership. I was driven (pun intended) to go ahead and get that first scratch out of the way!
We're talking about trucks that were expensive at the time, $15K to probably $30K for that Ford I'm thinking was the last one I took down a pipeline the day I got it.
I'm now quickly approaching retirement age, (no intention of retiring just yet) this truck costs more than twice what I paid for that pretty red over grey Ford I took up and down the powerline the day I got it. I'm thinking this one may be the last new truck I buy.
May well be the last one I can pay for!
I hope yall survive my story telling...
