Has anybody installed the 10L80 thermal bypass barbell on their truck? If you have it, were you able to install it with the bypass valve still on the truck? I'm hoping that's possible to reduce fluid loss and mess and not have to worry about breaking the seal and replacing o-rings too.

Also, it looks like there are two now. BET Engineering (which I have) and I just came across one from Shifted Solutions. Not only is the Shifted Solutions one cheaper, I like the dual o-rings on the bottom section.

Has anybody used the Shifted Solutions one? The only reviews I've seen are for the BET one.

This might be another option. Listed as compatible with 2020+ 10L series but I would check with them. I installed the Sure Cool STL010 on my 6L80 and have been happy with the cooler temp results. I liked this design because in the rare situation where something from the transmission forward to the cooler gets kinked or plugged the bypass function will still work, from overpressure not temperature, and keep fluid flowing through the transmission. A plug completely blocks the bypass and doesn't provide the extra layer of safety... For installation I did a full transmission service at the same time so can't say how much fluid would have come out of the block when I removed from the transmission. I installed the Sure Cool on the bench and it was pretty simple.

Yeah just roll under the trailboss with needlenose pliers or snapring pliers have your plug ready pull old one out and new one in...put a old towel down before youll lose minimal fluid . ..but it wont hurt anything...ive seen nothing over 135f so far and thats good... to me the cooler any trans runs the better
