2025 Engines Better??

I take it this would include the GMC AT4x with the 6.2.. Also hopefully this will solve the lifter issues too.
lifters are a separate issue entirely, and not exclusive to the 6.2, or GM

I had no issues with 5.3L. Still have it. I do like the 6.2L though.

For what it's worth, I have over 45k miles on the 6.2 / 10 speed in my '20 LT. It runs like a champ and the power is so nice to have when you need it. No issues whatsoever so far.

Well I sure hope so because I just bought a new 25 3 weeks ago. 🧐 sure love it so far. Upgraded from a Ft. Wayne 2019 TB LT 5.3 that stayed in the dealership with something wrong with it every 6 months, enough was enough and it only had 55k miles on it.

If it were me I just wouldn't get the 6.2l. If you want a fast vehicle then get something that's ACTUALLY fast. That's what I did. The 5.3l is more than enough power for this truck, and when I want to go fast I take my actually fast car.

But then that's just me - i've never understood the appeal of "fast" trucks. They aren't fun in my opinion.

FYI......there is currently a stop sale on certain Silverados with 6.2L. Engines are being replaced even before they hit the lots....
Hogie,
I’m thinking of trading in my 2500HD gas on a 1500 ZR2 6.2. Are the issues still persistant
if you have a failure, be prepared to be without your truck for some time. 6.2 mills are still backordered 6-8 weeks from date of order.
Hogue,
I’m thinking to trade in my 22 6.6 Gasser with 65k miles in for a new 1500 ZR2 6.2. Do the issues seem to be letting up with the newer motors or is it still to early to say?
Thanks

Just a fun fact. I changed my oil and filter at 500 miles last weekend and it only had 5 quarts of oil in it... supposed to have 8! A new 2025 6.2 trailboss LT

we have had our '25 TB 6.2 for about 5 months now and just got first oil change at the dealer at 3500 miles. no problems yet, knock on wood. really enjoying it after several 5.3l half tons. even my wife can't come up with any complaints other than the lack of auto-folding side view mirrors.

of course the dealer somehow managed to put a divot in the driver's side door which is requiring a complete repaint and blend of the door panel..... $1200 at my local shop, on their dime. (plus 5 free oil changes for the inconvenience).

Feel like I've had my 6.2 25 LT TB now and have shaken everything down. There are 2 petty negatives I can find about it is my old 2019 came with darker tented front windows the new one is hardly tented. Also I think my 2019 had an optional heavier duty brakes and calipers. I swear the brakes on the new one does not feel as strong and they even visually look smaller than what was on the 2019. So that is it with any negative. The power increase is crazy over the 5.3, the drive modes are awesome, it rides like a dream on the highway, very quiet in the cab and the highlight for me is my average fuel economy is the same as the 5.3. I haven't had the oil burn that I have heard others talk about, maybe its just to early though, I check it once a week 3400 miles total and I changed at 500 so only 2900 since that change. Pulled the camper once on a trip and big upgrade towing. Awesome, Awesome truck now lets just stay problem free for the next 120K.

IF the 2019 was a T1(new body style) truck the tint was exactly the same, as there is NO tint on the front door or windshield. Only the rear doors and rear window can come tinted from the factory. The brakes are all the same. Two piston calipers in front and single in the rear. It may be a change in brake pad formulation as I know there was a change around 2020 or so to remove copper from brake pads for environmental reasons.
