I had stop at my local GM dealership over the weekend. As usual I took a walk around the lot to check out some new trucks and corvettes. I found my exact truck. The only big difference was the 10speed trans, the larger infotainment screen and the year, it was a 2025. I almost fell over when I saw the sticker price…….$71,310.00 !!!! I asked the salesman what APR GM is offering in general for good credit these days? He replied around 5-7%APR for a credit score around 660-719 and 84 months is a common term for loans these days . I was absolutely gobsmacked. Someone in this forum made the comment that “hopefully he just purchased his last truck”. Well, I hope so too and I’m only 45. Between sticker prices and computers making it nearly impossible to service or replace most parts oneself on the newest models without a $5,000 scanner/GM computer software. In some areas of the country that’s a home mortgage or a nice parcel of land to invest in. It’s not as if build quality has excelled, in fact, I’d go as far to say that it’s quite the opposite.

48 month was the longest i was ever told to finance for....90% do not need the vehicle they have, same with hand held devices.
but your not cool any more, or looking good driving that 2010 are you ??? ( just an example)

if we the people, all political BS aside, would take the reins and stop purchasing anything for 1 week...we would break the system !

thats why the Canadian Truckers got so much attention....SAVE AND SPEND CASH, quit going the easy route.

we will all wake up real soon to a control we cannot over come, if we dont

I know exactly what you mean. There were 4 of us in the family. We went snow skiing religiously in the winter with friends and family. Some of my fondest memories are from around that time period. My father had his own electrical contracting business, I wouldn’t say we were wealthy but we definitely grew up comfortably. I’ll never forget the day my dad, god rest his soul, pulled in the driveway with a brand new Ford Excursion with a Triton v10. I thought they were going to get a divorce the next day. 😂 My mom would make the joke instead of nazi swastikas as a fighter pilot did during the war she was going to put shopping carts stickers on the fender instead because she could barely see over the wheel. I don’t think there was a trip where every seat was filled. It’s 100% the American way.

i recall my mother daily driving an Excursion with a 5.4....at that time, it was just her and him.
Not real sure anyone ever sat in the rear seats :ROFLMAO:

I thought you made a mistake with the engine having a 5.4. I suppose for low end torque. I googled it and I can’t believe that’s all the displacement that v10 produced. I forgot to mention they had a used Ford Lightning on the lot. I almost threw up in my mouth. Ford absolutely destroyed one of my favorite SRT trucks
