Hello again, gang! I'm back in a 2025 5.3L Trail Boss after spending several years in a couple different Colorado Zr2's. As much fun as the Colorados were, especially the AEV Bison, at 6'4" I eventually realized that I needed the extra interior space that the Silverado offers. So far the Silverado has handled the trails almost as well as the smaller Colorados, (those Zr2 lockers are basically cheating) and is certainly more comfortable hauling my toys around on long roadtrips.
My intent is to outfit this truck as more of a camping/overlanding rig, and I'll leave the more technical trails to my souped-up Coleman minibike and/or my hiking boots.
Current mods are:
-Zr2 wheels/tires/sliders
-Pinnacle Offroad full aluminum skid plates
-ARB onboard air (Under-hood mounted compressor)
-1.5" RC level with RC UCA's
-Bilstein 5100's (Rear only)
-Softopper
-Xtrusion XTR Bed Rack with RTT/accessories
-Hypertech inline speedo calibrator
-J&L Oil Catch Can
-Air Designs OEM fender flares
-BulletPoint dash mounting system with aux power
-Full-size matching MT spare tire

I had a '18 and then a '24 Colorado ZR2 as well. They were good trucks and ~worked for everything I needed, mostly. The Silverado for me fits/works better (except sometimes parking ;)) . The TB is more than adequate for my off-road needs and not once (yet) have I needed the ZR2 super-powers ;)

What a pretty motorcycle - what kind is this?:)
Thanks! It's just a Coleman Minibike that I've souped up a bit. I take it on my camping trips to help save some wear/tear on my truck by using it to explore the more technical trails. Every part of the bike is incredibly simple to repair/replace, and with a 45mph top speed and a 30-mile range, it's been a great addition to my adventures.

I very-much agree! While I definitely enjoyed the Zr2's offroad prowess, the TB is much more comfortable to daily and can haul alot more cargo. And if I'm being honest, I didn't really NEED all of the Zr2's "super-powers" for most of my adventures anyway. 😅

I really like the mini-bike, looking to get one myself. Upgraded motor, lift kit, and what other options? Plus the "magic" air chain LOL.

Ah yes, that's my bluetooth chain mod. Modifying and riding this bike has been embarrassingly fun.
223cc Wildcat Engine swap
2" rear swingarm/front fork extensions
19" SunF tires
60 tooth sprocket
Dual 30ml reserve fuel canisters
Amazon rear storage bag
Misc cosmetic touches

The bike has taken all 215 pounds of me to some really cool and scenic places, and is much easier to transport than a heavier dirtbike. Highly recommend. (Especially if you don't take yourself too seriously 🙃)

Great build. Super functional. I take my TB off road. It does a great job.

At 13 years old me and my friends were not sitting in front of a TV or hanging out in the house. We were building mini-bikes from scratch with 3 horsepower Briggs & Stratton engines we "borrowed" from lawn mowers. What a great time it was. I probably still have a couple of scars from the crashes!

great build and great looking truck!! I went from 2 regular Colorado's that I had modified with the 2" bilstein shocks and lift and 265/70/17 tires to a 2026 2500HD, which is overkill for my hauling needs - but I really do appreciate the extra space and the much nicer more comfy seats for longer trips as well - I am not nearly as tall at 6' but even still - it makes a big difference. And when I am towing a trailer it's nice to be under 1/3 the tow rating vs. right near the top with the Colorado which just leaves you no margin. I also realized that I can fit my ATV in the bed of this truck which saves a trailer when I want to go out and explore some trails, and I still have room for a MTB on a hitch rack too.

Also - thank you for your service!!

cheers and enjoy the new rig.
