Cell phone holder

I have an Iphone 12 pro max in an otter box and use the XL universal holder. On bumpy roads the bullet point is garbage. It looks cool, but can not hold up to the flex of the plastic tray it is mounted to. I emailed their customer support to reiterated what I already knew. In order for this to work properly without bouncing you have to lay the arm against your dash to brace it basically. WAY overpriced for the performance.

I will highly recommend the BulletPoint solution.

I will point out that I was the 2nd customer ever that they suggested returning the product. Why? We were the 2nd customer who had the tray that is on your dash that was NOT removable. We put in the well nuts and they just fell through the plastic and into the black hole below the dash. The solution that they provide works well if you can remove the tray, drill and mount the BulletPoint and then remount it all together.

I worked with Heide at BulletPoint and explained our situation. She stated that the team had a meeting about potential solutions. The solution that they came up with if I didn't want to return the unit was the same type of mounting tape that is used for SunPass type transponders. I talked to JB Weld about a solution to mount the metal to the plastic. JB Weld had a solution and was very clear that if I used it, the mount would never come out. That the only way to remove it would be to grind it out. That seemed a little harsh!

I ordered some $5 solution off of Amazon that was used for holding down SunPass type devices. That failed.

I called 3m. I knew they had solutions that would bond metal to plastic. I thought that they would recommend a two sided tape. They did not. They recommended a 'velcro' solution. I then went on Amazon and found the velcro brand solution, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BD69Y2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I then cut up some of the velcro so that it was on four spots on the mount. Put it down, and applied a small weight to the unit for a day to let it cure and I am very happy with it.

The unit has the cell phone holder, an extension arm with a Go Pro mount, facing the driver and a Go Pro mount facing the outside. I have taken the Truck to Anzo Borrego going offroading with all of them on and have had no issues.

I have had this one for a few years now. Works perfect, and fits pretty much all phones.

If you have the front center folding seat, the seatbelt back cover piece could make for a great mount point if you were to 3D Print the base and 3M Tape it. I don't currently have a 3D Printer, but might work on a file and take it to a friend's house to print.
